Advice please. Sprained my ankle yesterday not while running. I carried my grandson over muddy field lost my footing and bam. What should I do rest it or walk through the pain? Meant to start WK4 D1 tomorrow. So disappointed 😞

Grr sprained ankle

How frustrating for you! Definitely rest, elevate and ice. Also, don't attempt to run on it until you are pain free. The programme will wait - you don't want it turning in to a worse injury by attempting to run again too soon. Good luck- hope it settled soon.☺

As Sandra says, definitely rest and ice it and do not run until the pain goes. It should be only a few days.
I'm just back from the minor injury clinic with a sprain but I've been in real pain for the last 10 days. The nurse there said no running for me for 6 weeks! Is that not the usual advice?

Sorry to hear about that! It probably only needs a few days rest, you'll soon be back into it. My wife is on w4r3, she bought some ladies running socks from Lidl's yesterday, and they have a reinforced stability frame bandage built in to support the ankle and prevent painful twists, only £2.99 a pair. I bought some men's one's for myself as I can have a niggly ankle.😊
