Hi for those of you who saw my last post I just wanted to put a little update on here I am now on week 4 and the last few runs I have ran ALONE and I am enjoying it! Thank so so much to all of you for your very kind and supportive words I have had a few wobbles still but went back and read that post and it has helped me so much.
I changed my route and it's much quieter than the one I was doing, which I prefer, I still feel "on show" when I see anyone have this weird voice in my head that tells me who do I think I am and what a state I look but I'm trying to ignore that voice because I know I'd never think that about someone I saw out running.
My pace is very slow purposely because I think reading on this site it's been drummed into my brain to slooooow down, but then I feel self conscious about that too. The main aim for me is to finish the programme injury free as last time I did it I had a few ankle and shin troubles. Also I want to enjoy it and taking the slower pace I really am enjoying it.
Thanks again, I love this forum 😁😁😁

Your doing fantastic! I’m only on week 1 and only dream of week 4. 👍
I'm super slow and have come to realise no-one else cares really, and I run in the day when previously only at night! slow is sure, you can develop speed once you have developed stamina, and it's less likely to cause injury
Pleased to hear you’ve found a good route! And slow is the way forward! I am also very slow and like you have come to realise no one ever thinks twice. Keep ignoring that voice, it doesn’t serve you, keep up the great work!!
Well done! Great to hear that you’re still going strong! I have to admit to questioning what other people must think about my snail’s pace but I keep reminding myself that I’m doing it for me and not for them! Just done W8R1 after not being able to do W1R1 not that long ago! 🥰
