3rd Runniversary

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrGraduate

Today 18th April in 2018 I ran, run 1 of week 1 of C25K, since then I have ran 17 official Parkruns and 44 (not) parkruns, at least another 20 other 5K to 8K runs, 10/10Ks, a few 11K to 14K runs and one 10 miles run, it's been a great 3 years, also as this Healthunlocked C25K/B210K and Marathon Forums are the best Social Media Sites on the Internet I am very proud to be a member of it.

Thanks Frizzbomb67, I might get the new 25 running a official Parkrun T Shirt, not so sure regarding the 50 or 100 T shirt 👚 if they counted my 17 official Parkruns and the 44 (not) parkruns which are 61 altogether I wound now have the red 50 parkrun T Shirt.

Thank you for your support and encouragement. It's my one year runniversary coming up and I hope I will have achieved half as much as you in another 2years time AlMorr

I just need to get off the IC first!

AlMorr profile image

Thanks Birdlady64, I hope it won't be too long before you can run again and get off the IC, good luck for your first year runniversary, perhaps by that day you can run again.

Wow that's amazing. Any tips?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrGraduate in reply to Judybni

Any tips, the running mantra for C25K is slow and steady, you should take all your runs slowly, if you are doing C25K, good luck 🤞.

Certainly am doing the slow bit lol.

Thanks Al. Just deciding how to celebrate, given that I still want to do (not) parkrun on Saturday 🤔

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrGraduate in reply to Sandie1961

You can do not parkrun any day of the week, 7 runs are the maximum, there is a runner on my parkrun site who has ran 77 not parkruns, she averages 3 a week.

Sandie1961 profile image
Sandie1961Graduate in reply to AlMorr

Ha nowster, my toes do have a spring in them, helped by those Hilly socks I wear when out doing longer walks and shorter runs, it is important for walkers to have proper walking boots and runners to have proper running shoes and socks to match.

Yes thanks Alan, life’s been pretty busy here preparing my late parents house (which a family member had been living in) for sale, lots of gardening and maintenance needed doing, so I’m now looking forward to a much more relaxed life once the sale is finalised. Yes, still running and although I haven’t posted on here yet managed to run 10 miles yesterday and I’m another 2018 graduate, 3 years on Thursday since I graduated 😊

AlMorr profile image

Congratulations on completing that 10 miles run yesterday, I have only ran one 10 miles run, that was last year, perhaps for my 3rd graduation anniversary on the 18th June I might run my second 10 miles run or even run a HM, that is a big might 👍🏃🏾😊

Thanks Kingfishers, fun, most of the runs have been fun, not all, especially the recent ones in February when I was struggling though ice and snow with my sore right leg and had to walk a good part of it in a time of 55.06, otherwise, most of my running have been fun, I am having a lovely evening, Monday evening is the one evening I have a fish supper, earlier today I took a train journey to the coast and walked 5K.

Your reply made me chuckle-I only realise the fun when Michael J says “you’ve done it. Keep walking. Don’t stop moving.”

Wonderful Al, congrats, what a fabulous 3 years you've had, it truly is life changing isn't it 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

And you're right about these forums, it's been around 3 years for me too with one difference...in the 1st year I did it alone and was only at 23 mins with a couple of short walk breaks and just couldn't figure out how to progress from there, then I joined HU and boy how things changed!

As we now know and have advised many others I was simply going too fast, and probably not hydrating well.

It's simple with a little help and support from all our lovely HU running friends 😊

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrGraduate

I couldn't agree more with you Run46 regarding this forum and how HU has helped so many people to run C25K, slow running is the answer, slow and steady as in this forum, I have indeed had 3 fabulous years of running, I hope you are also enjoying your runs, thanks for congratulating me regarding my wonderful 3rd running anniversary on starting the course of C25K.
