On this date, 18th April 2018 I ran run 1 of week 1 of C25K, this morning while on a 7K walk I reran, run 1 of week 1 again to celebrate 4 years ago since I began C25K. I did not have my running shoes on, just a good pair of trainers, after the 8th one minute run I continued with my walk.
It's been a wonderful 4 years since I began running, well over 100/5Ks, 96 (not) parkruns, 41 official Parkruns, 23/10Ks including a T Shirt and medal for running the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 last year, 5/10 mile runs and many what we call 3K maintainance runs, I have enjoyed most of those runs, it's been a wonderful 4 years, what a great community this is. π ππΎ

Congratulations on your runversary! You seem to be doing really well. Iβm a fair way behind you yet but hoping to get in my 10th park run soon. Got a few work trips away Iβm the coming wekends, then back to it.
Thanks Oldlady64, not long before you run your 10th parkrun, it's only juniors who get a T Shirt π for running 10 Parkruns, us seniors have to run 25 Parkruns before we get a 25 T Shirt.
Happy runniversary!! We are so pleased to have you as part of this community :-)What a lot of things you have done in 4 years; I think I probably need to take stock on my achievements too. It helps realise how far we've come. Well done!
Thank you CP2 for your reply regarding my 4th anniversary since starting C25K in 2018, you also have been on this forum for about 4 years as well, there are many who began their running journey in 2018, what we call "the class of 2018"
You've aged me I am the class of 2019! I started running on 01-01-2019 and it's the best thing I've done recently! I did come onto HU a few days before as I'd read somewhere how helpful the forum was. Here's to another year of running adventures!
Thank you very much for that Happy Anniversary Card CBDB, nice of you sending it to me, yes time flies when you are having fun on the run, I am now preparing for my second London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in early May, this Wednesday I will run my 23rd 10K in preparation for the London.
It is a nice way to commemorate a run by rerunning it exactly 4 years later, I don't exactly remember how I felt after that first run of C25K, I don't think I was too knackered after having had a number of short two minute test runs from as early as September 2017, I even ran/walked a 5K in 42 minutes in January 2018 on the same course as our local Santa Dash so I felt I was ready to begin proper C25K on 18th April 2018. π ππΎ
Well done AlMorr . I'm a couple of weeks shy of the third anniversary of graduating. Being about 11 months behind you, you were always something of an inspiration to me on my own journey. Here's hoping you have many more runs still to come.
Thats nice of you sTrongFuse, thanks, you have ran much longer distances than I have, although you began C25K 11 months after I began, we ran our first parkrun on the same day in July 2019.
Have we been here that long? Well, I havenβt quite yet, you were a couple of months ahead of me. Hereβs hoping this summer isnβt quite so brutal as that one was!
This place wouldnβt be the same without you my friendβ¦ thanks for being one of the people who blazed the trail just ahead of me!
Thank you very much UnfitNoMore on congratulating me on my 4th runniversary, you were a few months after me on starting C25K, you are also a member of the class of 2018 who began the course that year, I remember telling you to get moving on your graduation day, you said you were running on the Saturday afternoon but if I remember correctly you didn't get out for your graduation run until early evening on that Saturday. π ππΎ π
Yeah, I still love to run late! My favourite run starts at sunset above the town, the views and the colours are amazing. I then have about 30 minutes to run down and into the streetlights before the light goes. I am trying not to finish by going through the local park though as I have lost count of the number of women Iβve made screamβ¦ couple of guys too π€£
Congratulations Al.Morr on your 4 years anniversary. Iβve really enjoyed reading about your posts and your service to HealthUnlocked. You deserve a gold medal π₯ βοΈ
Ha, I deserve a gold medal, really, thanks for the compliment Doris8, yesterday I went a 10K walk up that hill which is part of the local 21K Half Marathon which is run in late October but the visibility wasn't very good to take a photo, this morning it was a 7K walk but as I had my Smartphone with me and it was exactly 4 years since I started C25K I also ran, run 1 of week 1 and then continued with the walk, I had Laura as my coach, I didn't have my running shoes, however, the trainers I had are also very good to have a short run. ππΎ
Well done I used Laura as well when I started. I went out for a 5 km walk this morning , then rest of the day gardening putting potatoes and carrots in, back to work for a restπ€£
Many congratulations AlMorr , that is wonderful to read, and Iβm sure even more wonderful to do! Four years of running - well done and hurrah! πππ
Thanks Frenc, yes, 4 years, I don't go really long runs such as Half Marathons or 26 mile marathons or run 5/10Ks and 1/10 mile runs a week but doing the runs I do still mounts up the kilometres and miles through those 4 years. π ππΎ
41 parkruns, 96 (not) parkruns, 23 10Ks, 5/10 mile runs, one maintenance 3K run every week through the winter months, I graduated exactly 2 months after the first run of week 1, there were several 5K runs which are not recorded on my present Smartphone, so it's been quite a lot of runs since the 18th April 2018. π ππΎ
Thanks Ian, I have enjoyed those last 4 years, I might try and run a HM this year, it's a big might, I did walk that distance last summer with a little running as well, I didn't want to be any longer than 3 and 1/2 hours, as it was I completed it in 3 hours 18 minutes, it was mainly walking, so NO. HM next to my username, depending on the weather I may decide to run it this year, recently when I have been running 10K I felt that was long enough for the moment.
Thank you very much Oldfloss, I do still have the C25K app on my Smartphone and occasionally have a run from it, a few weeks ago when I wasn't at parkrun I reran run 3 of week 5, that brought back memories of the first time I ran that run.
What a lovely post Al! Youβve certainly packed a lot of running into your 4 years havenβt you! Youβre so right about this community - I feel I βknowβ
so many people through their posts! Including you, of course!
Indeed OGR, I have ran a lot of running in those 4 years, in the early days I wasn't sure if I could do it, I have been a cyclist since I was 7, at that time I did run quite a lot, I was very good at fast sprint running, however, I stopped running at 12 but continued with the cycling.Like you say we have got to know many people on this forum, I have got to know you, Dexy5, UpTheStanley and others from what you call "The Southsea Crew" from the Southsea Facebook page I now know the exact route that you run on a Saturday morning from photos and even a few videos, I agree that this is a wonderful forum and community. π ππΎ
Thanks for asking, yes I'm fine but I've had a few weeks off running due to post-covid fatigue. I feel like I'm well over the worst of it now, and easing myself back into my normal activities. Back to the beginning again for my running!
Thank you very much Caroline, I don't run the distances you run but as you say I like to think that I am a dedicated runner, good luck for your next half marathon ππΎ π β
Thanks, Lynz51, I hope to enjoy today, this afternoon I am going to the same place where I ran run 3 of week 7 of C25K but today it will be a walk, not a run although who knows I might have a little run as well.
Congratulations on your Runniversary, fellow βClass of 2018erβ. It has been a real journey hasnβt it? Itβs mine on Saturday and celebrating with my 50th parkrun on a tourist trip to meet up with Shake-and-run and TailChaser ! ππ
Thanks, Sandie1961 and best wishes for your running anniversary and 50th parkrun this Saturday. On Saturday 18th June this year, I will celebrate 4 years since I graduated from C25K at a parkrun.
Congratulations AlMorr. Turns out we started at almost exactly the same time - I was just a day ahead of you. Sadly Iβve not run for quite a while but still help at parkrun and, of course catch up on progress here. I fully intend to start again - had planned to restart on 17th but was still Covid positive that day however am now fit and well. This long ramble is my way of making myself accountable!! Watch this space . . . . Again weβll done on your many achievements.
Thank you very much Sybilw for your post, sorry about you being Covid positive on the 17th, well done on helping at parkruns, I certainly will be watching your progress regarding your running ππΎ π
Big Congratulations AlMorr. What a running journey you have had over the last 4 years. I love the idea of redoing run 1. Week 1 to commemorative the date. I must remember to do that each anniversary. I'm class of 2020.... Only 1 x 10miles so far, lots of 10KS but not enough confidence to try a park run yet. I love running and will do it as long as I can. 71 next Friday so hopefully a few years yet.
Thanks Mormor1, it has been a great running journey for me over the last 4 years, I do like to commemorate certain runs from the past, this afternoon I was at the same place that I ran, run 3 of week 7, however, as I am going to run a 10K tomorrow I just walked the route, as far as parkruns, do go along to one, spectate to begin with, talk to one of the volunteers while the run is on, perhaps the next week you might want to run along with the runners, I wish you a happy 71st birthday for next Friday.
Thanks TailChaser, by the way this morning I ran my 24th 10K in preparation for the London Vitality Virtual 10,000 in a few weeks time, best time for me this year, my 10K time this morning was 1:11:58,
Thanks Beatlesforever, nice to know that I am such an inspiration to other runners including you, I hope you are enjoying your running and especially when listening to the music of the FAB FOURπ
Oh yes you are π I'm back running regularly and enjoying it (mostly!) And how did you guess my fave boys are almost always with me during my runs πΈπΆπ
Hi AlMorr. I started C25K 3 years ago and have been running ever since. You were a tremendous support to me at the beginning and Iβm ever grateful to you for that. Since graduation, Iβve put on 2 stones (I can drink that; Iβm running tomorrow/I can eat that; Iβve run today) then lost 4 stones! Iβm fitter and healthier than Iβve ever been with low resting heart rate, low blood pressure and I do my best thinking when I run. I canβt imagine stopping now. So I want to say a big Thank you for your help and support. Iβll never truly enjoy running but the sense of achievement when I finish makes it all worth it. I only do 5K, three times a week, outside. Not interested in going onto 10K; itβs just not for me but I admire everyone who does. Thanks again π
Thank you very much MargoPuffyPants for your post regarding me helping and supporting you on your running, well done also for your weight loss of 4 stone, so happy to know that you are fitter and healthier than you have ever been β πas I like to say "onwards and upwards"
Congratulations! You are such a supportive and inspirational member of this community. I hope that you continue running for many runniversarys to come.
