My Dad's first Parkrun - 31:03

Hi all!

I Dad graduated C25K this week so I encouraged him to join me for today's Parkrun. I have a 10km race tomorrow so I told him we could run together and I would try and push him a bit to run a faster time.

As with most people who run with others the first time we set out and ran a fast first km, 5:36, and then slowed down gradually. We walked for 100m in the 5th km because the start was a bit too fast. However we finished in 31:03 which is a minute faster than the first 5km that my Dad ran.

I have three more weeks until my half marathon and I run all my long runs on Sunday. So the next three Parkruns will be slower ones for me, hopefully I can bring my Dad along and enjoy a few runs with him!

Congratulations to the Sarwars! That is two fit looking geezers. I might have a go at my mum, but then again, she is 90.

Enjoy your running.

Congratulations to both you and your dad, and good luck for tomorrow. You'd better watch out, your dad maybe nipping at your heels in a race in the near future with his great times :)

Thanks! He'd never let me forget beating me in a run so I'd better have to make sure it doesn't happen!
