Hi all, had a good run this morning though it was a but slow. Only covered 4k in the 30 mins. Haven't run since Tuesday as I am temporarily back at work. Will have to try and speed up a bit to enable me to complete 5k in the 30 mins. That will be my work in progress. It was lovely weather cold and sunny and it was lovely in the park. Hopefully it will no be long until the park runs are starting up again, that would probably help me too in getting to 5k. Happy running everyone and to those just starting out keep at it as it is SO worth it.

Hi, I did my graduation run end of last week and managed 4.4km which was actually my best so far. I’ve also got a little way to go to make it to 5km. From what I’ve read on here, you need to be careful about speeding up too soon. Take it gradually and you will cover 5km eventually as your fitness improves.
Park run starts up again in June. I’ve just signed up to it and I am going to build up to 5km hopefully between now and then.

How about forgetting about trying to speed up and instead try extending your time running gradually, eg. by a couple of minutes a week?
