Yesterday was so hard, I did my 2nd run in my 2nd week and it was freezing and my joints started to ache. I was almost in tears. I normally run first thing in the morning but I had other commitments and it meant running late afternoon. I will never to that again. It’s a day later and my legs still hurt. I would appreciate some advise . My next run is due on Friday

Difficult run
My advice is to slow down. Don’t let this run put you off. Everyone has bad runs. I think aches and pains are pretty standard at the start but make sure they aren’t excessive. Take some ibuprofen. The first runs are hard in the cold weather. Hopefully it’s back on the rise again now. Good luck.
Put this down to a bad day and don’t let it put you off. I did my run on Tuesday (when it was really cold and bits of snow) and didn’t enjoy it either, I found it more difficult than usual with my breathing and muscles feeling stiff🥶. I am focussed on how much I enjoyed my runs a couple of weeks ago when we had that glorious spring sunshine and there must be more of that on the way now. Stay with it and chalk this one down to experience
You did it though, despite it being hard. How brilliant is that! The only way is up.. you will be fine. Go sloooow.
Follow the advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Above all, slow down.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Thank you - I will stretch, hydrate and watch my nutrients
Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... It is full of tips.
Well done for getting out there. It is cold. You are doing brilliantly. 👍🏻 A slow run is definitely the answer and piling on the layers...gloves and hat etc. You did it and that is great progress. 👍🏻
