Week 8 second time, distance is same but cadence is faster, does that make sense?

I completed Week 8 run 1 on Jan 2 in the rain and after graduating had to take 5 weeks off. I started again late Feb , skipped a few early ones and now I'm at Week 8 run 1 again. My distance was the same 3.02km, avg. speed same at 6.4 but my cadence was 136 in January and 148 today. Can someone explain what that tells me?😀 And today I had sunshine and blossoms.BC🇨🇦

You must be taking shorter strides.

From what I understand cadence is how frequently your foot strikes the ground. A higher cadence is better as you’re not over striding and more likely to have a better posture over your foot as it hits the ground.
