***Update: I did it***

Talked myself out of this run all day today...instead I just ate crap and did very little steps all day.

I will do it tomorrow!

I will head back here for accountability and let you know if I managed it ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Hi. I try as much as possible to run first thing in the morning. Itโ€™s lovely and quiet and sets you up for the day. If I canโ€™t run first thing ( working) I make sure I lay out my running stuff. If Iโ€™m running later in the day I wear my running gear and tell family Iโ€™m running later in the day. To fit around my work I always had set days I ran and never ever wavered from that even if weather was rubbish. Thatโ€™s maybe not possible in your life but definitely got me through the programme.

Good luck ๐Ÿ˜‰

I do that - put on my running clothes as a way of making sure I donโ€™t procrastinate and actually get out. All that hassle of shovelling myself into a sports bra cannot be wasted! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Totally agree about the morning. The day is so fresh and scrubbed clean by the night. A whole new day awaits whilst most are still dozing their lives away.Happy running!

Good luck! I just did that one yesterday, it got a bit tiring at times but I forced myself to keep going. ๐Ÿ’ช

As some advertising exec once said, JUST DO IT.

You are building it into something it is not.

It is just another workout in a progressive plan.

This breakdown of W5 may help allay your fears healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax and enjoy it.

I has a serious mental block with this one too. I think we are more afraid of not being able to do it.I honestly can say the thought of it is harder as like iannoda says we build it up too much.

I second his words

Just do it!

I know that run is a bit of a mental hurdle but you will be surprised by what you can do now. One thing I can guarantee is that you will feel invincible once youโ€™ve done it. Keep that in mind and just do it, you got this ๐Ÿ’ช

Done! And feel amazing!

Thanks for all the support and advice, I opened my eyes and jumped out of bed and just did it with limited thinking.

It really is a mental thing, I took it nice and slow and found once I got to 10 minutes I could push myself on knowing I had less to do.

Actually looking forward to next weeks runs now!

Thank you all so much for the support

well done! I got stuck on doing that run for 4 months, found this forum, made it, and am now in the middle of week 7. Once you have cracked that 20 minute run, 5 minutes or even 8/10 minutes more doesnt seem such a hill to climb. Just go on now, and give yourself a pat on the back, so to speak.

EXCELLENT. You see, W5R3 isn't that scary after all. Be careful on W6R1 and don't be tempted to go too fast. Many think I can do 20 mins so W6R1 is easy and go way too fast. SLOWLY DOES IT. But CONGRATULATIONSSSSSS.

I can't add more than IannodaTruffe has written in his "tough love" reply. He knows about this stuff and is worth listening to. Good luck (and get on with it ๐Ÿ˜†).
