I did it...w5r3...who'd have thought!

I can't quite believe I made it, I didn't die or anything!

I did find a new slow gear that I didn't think I had with the help of a bit of Mr Brightside and I'm pretty sure that my cool down walk was faster than my run....but I did it.

Turns out my brain really is the limiting factor here and my body can do far more than I think I can...it's a good job that I trust Laura and the "w5r3 Mythbusters" thread really helped to quieten down the 'omg it's a massive change' demons.

If I can do 20 minutes straight, I'm starting to believe that I can get to 30!

The only question is....when does it stop being a scary slog and become something I look forward to doing because its amazing!?!

Now...Where's my high-5 !

That's the way I'm trying to think, I've not yet regretted getting out for a run

Huge high five ✋ so glad someone else has the same as me. My brain convinced me this morning that I’d not be able to run for 20 mins , but guess what brain... I did it xx

Yay, it really is a battle when your mind is so convinced that you're not capable of doing it...and a high five right back at you ...take that brain!!✋

Well done! I think during consolidation it changes from being scared and just enjoying it. At least that’s what happened to me.

You're learning, running is physiological your body wants to do it but your mind says otherwise. Always listen to your body and is the best way to avoid injury. Remember why you wanted to start this journey go steady and you will enjoy it.

So far so good, my body is definitely more willing than I ever gave it credit for 😀

I will also give you a high - 5, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ranI am not sure what you mean by "a scary slog " I am sure you will start enjoying your runs, maybe you should run a little slower than you have been recently.

Thank you for the reminder, I'll be doing the next run on Sunday and I'll watch out and keep it steady, I do feel like I run reeeaally slowly already but today I did find that there was an 'even slower' which I didn't think was possible but now I've found it, I shall use it.

The 'scary slog' is the struggle to get out and do it, I'm still intimidated by every run (even though I manage them) and generally have to work really hard to get through each one, I'm hoping a day comes when I either enjoy having to push hard, or it feels like a stroll in the park 😀

For most people this is the run that convinces them that graduation is possible.

Enjoying running comes when you have less pressure on you to do any particular target and can run to your own agenda. It becomes a comfortable habit.

Thank you, that makes alot of sense, even with today's run, knowing I just had to keep running until it was done and it was going to be much longer than usual definitely changed my mind set, there was no 'i just have to make it to...' going on, followed by 'oh no, I'm going to have to do it again in a minute', I just kept running until it was done and somehow although it was tough it was more chilled out

High five, did mine today. When I looked through the weeks at week 1 I thought I am never going to manage week 5, but I did it. Totally exhausted and sweating buckets, but I did it. Sarah was so right, it's a mental challenge as well as physical (perhaps mental even more). 3.9km including the two walks, so slowly but surely building up to my 5k. I'm starting to feel it's possible! Very happy 😊
