Got up at 6 a.m. (yes, that time does exist on a Saturday ) Left home after 'pre-cooling' with a mango and pineapple smoothie and loads of crushed ice and ran along the canal in the opposite direction to usual and back along the cycle track. To get back to my starting point would have been 5.3k, but I had to stop running at exactly 5k through exhaustion. . Time was 51 minutes, so quite a way to go to get to 30 minutes, but I was well chuffed anyway.
The Race for Life is next Sunday, so I needed to prove I could run 5k, but I think it will be more of a walk/run combo if it is as hot as it has been lately.
Happy running everyone.

Well done, and you managed to get the blogs working too! Mind you I don't believe you on the 6am thing- it doesn't exist! We went 11 ish and it nearly killed us!
6am on Saturday is amazing! I was pleased with myself at getting up at 9, and I didn't go running either. I'm very impressed anyone could run 5k when it's this warm. Well done.
Hope you enjoy your RfL next weekend - maybe it'll be a bit cooler and you'll get a new personal best!
