W9✅........Graduation Day🏃‍♀️🥳🤩....Chuffed to bits!

Absolutely over the moon that I have actually completed this programme....yes me, who has always maintained that I haven’t got the stamina to run! It took me a bit longer than I had planned to compete W9 as I’ve had a rough couple of days due to chronic pain and have not been sleeping very well.....but the wait has been worth it!

I can honesty say joining C25K has been the best decision I have taken so far this year. Not only has it helped with my physical fitness, but it’s also helped me with my mental well-being and managing chronic pain. I have even been able to reduce my intake of pain killers, something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. It has made me realise that I need to take more time out just for me and accept this isn’t being selfish, it’s about being kind to yourself.

I enjoy listening to various podcasts, uplifting music and appreciate the fact that I am able to run and live in a beautiful part of the Wales. Dr Rangan Chatterjee who has a show on Radio 2 was recently talking to Jake Humphrey, Sports Commentator, who talked about the importance of Positive Affirmations. It got me thinking about my own affirmations and how positive thinking can really make a difference to your everyday life. This programme proves if you put your mind to it, you can achieve something you previously thought was impossible! I for one always maintained that I just didn’t have the stamina needed to run.....soo glad that I have been able to prove to myself wrong!

Thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences on this forum. It has been very useful and has certainly given me the courage and enthusiasm to go out running 3 times a week. My aim now is to continue to run 5k 3 times a week but more importantly enjoy the experience.

Great news. Keep up the 3x 30 minutes per week for a few more weeks and look up the Bridge to 10K pages. The fun starts here.
