So disappointed. Week 3 run 2, couldn't complete due to pain around outer side of shin and calves. I'm not out of breath at all it's just the pain in that area that's stopped me. I know I'm flat footed, hoping it's just about my gait. I'm told I can get this checked once sports shops can reopen. I'm going to rest a few days and hope it settles. Anyone else had pain in this area they've been able to solve?

Hi Hidden ...sorry to hear you’re having this pain...are you stretching before and after your runs?? Stretching is so important and will help your muscles recover...as for your gait, having the right shoes is obviously very important to avoid injury and niggles so yes, as soon as you are able to, a gait analysis is highly recommended
I haven't done stretches beforehand. I've got a bit confused with them. I'd read you shouldn't stretch cold muscles so I assumed the 5 minute warm up was a gentle way of warming and stretching. Should I stretch before the walk or should I pause my app after the walk before starting to run?
How are you doing ?
Paramedic friend of mine think it's the start of compartment syndrome so has recommended having long rest and then get gait assessed before starting again 😟. I'm going to bike ride to keep cardio up for a while and try again in a couple of months. Bit disappointing but better safe than sorry. Thank for the support and good luck in your continued journey 🏃♀️👍
