Week two complete!

Happy Friday everyone!

I’ve just completed the third run of week two; I plan to go onto week three on Sunday. Bit nervous about it but I want to give it a go rather than repeat week two; if I find it too difficult I might go back and repeat instead but I want to give it a try first and hope I can do it!

The first run of week 2 I found surprisingly fine, the second went well too, but today’s third I struggled more. I think that was maybe because I don’t think I’m feeling too well today, combined with the fact I did it after work (I usually like to go out early in the morning but didn’t have time today). But I still did it! Pleased I pushed through as I feel better for doing it ☺️

I do a lot of walking but running has never been something I felt like I could do; hoping to prove myself wrong with this!!!

Have a fab weekend all!

Well done on your run today 👍And I'm sure you will be ok with week 3.

As you have successfully completed wk 2 then you will be capable of doing week 3.

Just keep the runs slow , trust the program and trust yourself 🙂👍

Only repeat what you don't complete! You can do it. My last run was harder, running in strong winds isn't easy 🌬💨🍃

Well done for completing W2, some runs are tough, especially if your not feeling great and used to early morning runs.

Be patient and stick with it, you’ll soon find your stamina will improve. Take the running parts nice and slow, try and relax and get your breathing into a nice steady rhythm, nice deep breath in through your mouth (not too quickly) then purse your lips slightly as you exhale. Imagine your body is like a machine and the oxygen your taking in is your fuel, that way you won’t feel so out of breath and find you can go on longer....Good Luck 👍🏃‍♀️

Thanks so much for the encouragement and tips! Really helpful! I’ve gone back to my early morning runs and feel much better! And I completed the first run of week 3 today - so pleased!

That’s great, thanks for letting me know, I appreciate that. I’m glad I could help, well done 👏🏻👏🏻

Be patient ok, it’s not easy, but as someone said to me when I started ‘if it was easy everyone would be doing it’. I struggled to run for 60 seconds when I began C25k and last Saturday I completed my first Virtual Half Marathon, it was tough, but I did it and I was proud I achieved it. You’ll be surprised at what your body is actually capable of.....Good Luck, you can do this 👍🏃‍♀️

Hey congratulations on completing week 2! I also completed week 2 today. I found run 1 fine and run 2 I was buzzing felt amazing. Today.... not so much. Time of the month paired with the horrific winds and I ended up with a bloody foot from a blister.I'm nervous to progress but have told myself run 1&2 was good so I've got this! And you have too!

Jen x

Well done. The following week always appears to be daunting. But I found it best to just to give the next week a go. While I've only just completed week 5. I've not yet found a week so hard that I had to either go back or repeat it.

You may want to think about stretches on rest days. NHS Strength and Flex programme is good. But even just a few squats, lunges and heel raises will help and dreaded planks - you will need better core strength after you graduate (you will!) SO why not start now. Don't do high impact stuff. Now and again an extra day's rest works wonders. I only have one Katie (daughter) 4 Katies are too many....

I will definitely look into doing this - thank you for the advice! Definitely do need to improve my core strength (or current lack of!!). Hahaha; never too many Katie’s ;)

Hi KatieCongratulations!

I am in exactly the same place as you - and starting week 3 tomorrow. I am a 49 year old asthmatic (that’s not how introduce myself at parties you understand!) and I can’t believe I’ve done it either.

Go us!!

Snap. Me and my missus (doing c25k together) did Wk3 R1 this morning. Feel great. The sun was shining and the windy weather has calmed down. Had seemed a jump from week 2 when we read what is coming up but it went really well.

Positive mindset and following the plan seems to be working for us.

Plus my wonderful wife also got some active leggings things and a sports bra sorted out this week too so that hopefully helps her.

Keep up the good work.
