Week Five - Complete 💥BOOOOOOOM!!!💥

A quick post this morning... I'm absolutely buzzing 🤡

I completed my W5R3 20 minute run at 6am and I still can't quite believe it!

I took it nice and steady and used one of the Nike 20 minute guided runs 'Go With Dina' alongside the C25k app, as recommended by UnfitNoMore (cheers!🍻). It all went perfectly. it was a pleasant 12 degrees when I got outside, no aches in my right leg, everything just worked out for me today. I thoroughly enjoyed the run, the audio commentary made me feel happy and upbeat and I had plenty of gas left in the tank to give it a good final push for the last two minutes. I'm so happy! what an amazing programme this is. The changes I've experienced over the past few weeks have been incredible - a huge thanks to all involved.

The previous two runs this week also went fairly well. However, i did experience some issues with my right leg. I changed my trainers over for the third run and am planning to visit my local running shop and get a Gait analysis and hopefully some new trainers this weekend... if all goes to plan.

20 minute run... chuffed to bits!

Onwards to week 6

Go you!!! Well done! Such a fab feeling completing week 5!!!

Some advice for week 6 as I just completed that-it can catch you out. I was warned about it and was still a bit disheartened with run 1 and 2, if this happens don’t worry it doesn’t last-my run 3 was amazing!!!!

Look forward to hearing all about it!

Thank you Marcia! A real buzz completing my first 'big' run.

Yes, ArthurJG has also warned me about the week 6 runs catching people out, now you’ve both said it I’m definitely going to be keeping my wits about me over the coming days. Congrats to you for completing your week 6 in style! - glad you had a good one, they feel great when things finally fall into place. I’ll watch out for your W7 posts with interest, all the best with it x

Great job!

Dina and her mate there are definitely a tad crazy, but they do make the time fly... glad you got along with it. Now you’ve done 20 that 25 next week isn’t scary and then it’s just little steps up... you got this!

in reply toUnfitNoMore

Yes! they are completely loopy but it's definitely entertaining, takes your mind off it. I'll be having a go at some more of those on the longer runs it worked perfectly. Thank you!

I’m planning on the coach Bennett 30 minuter today, he’s great and then Just go with Mo on the graduation run... not sure which in my middle run yet. They’re not all bonkers like Dina, but that’s sprinters for you!

Don’t think I’ll ever leave here... it’s been such an amazing place to be around and a part of. Of course they may boot me out eventually 😂

I’ve been listening to Micheal Johnson’s calm deep voice the whole time, would you recommend changing it up to someone else?

A huge well done! I'm planning my Wk5 R3 for today or tomorrow (need to get my head in the right place!) must admit I am dreading it - so far I've managed to follow the runs/walks as per the programme, just worried I won't be able to run for 20 mins without stopping. Your feedback is very helpful and has given me a boost - thank you!

Well done.

Thank you Oldfloss x

The best advice I can give is slow it right down and enjoy it. It isn’t a race... you don’t have to get anywhere in a certain time... it’s a gentle jog that you’ve already proved you’re fully capable of, now you’re just putting all the pieces together. Honestly, just believe you can do it and take it easy - you’ve got this!
