Jelly legs

I haven't posted here for ages. I was running regularly until a foot injury stopped me from getting out there. I had continued with exercise classes and Pilates (online) and some walking but finally felt ready to get out my running shoes. Thought it would be safe to jump in again at week 6. OMG! Where has my running fitness gone and will it come back😟? UPSET is an understatement ....I just hope I have the will and determination to start all over again and I hope that it does not take too long before I am enjoying running again.

Any tips will be gratefully received🏃‍♀️🙏

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.

Depending on when you last ran I would say that you needed to start further back in the programme, or go out and see what you can comfortably manage. Don't expect too much too soon!
