I’ve just done week7 run2, it was not bad, the first 20 mins are really comfortable but after that I tend to get heavier thighs, slightly jelly ish when I finish.

Any tips or do I just need to keep getting fitter??

Make sure your hydrating properly, not just before the run but the day before and the day of the run. I've found I get jelly legs if I've not drunk enough liquid as I should've before running. Don't start off fast, build up your speed slowly. I've found my best runs were when I actually went a bit slower than usual.

I will try the hydration route more, I do drink tea and a nice herbal one during the day, a decent swig of water before I run, but maybe it’s not enough.

And I suspect pace earlier causes me issues, tonight I slowed down and ran the last few minutes much slower, which meant at least I finished it running!

My legs are heavy at the end too. Yes, stay hydrated but I think it's probably just our brain playing tricks with us when we know we've almost finished the run.

I get the same feelings. My thighs feel like bricks after the run and I feel like if I stopped moving they'd seize up.

Hydration isn't my issue though I probably drink too much water in the day 😂

I find that towards the end of the run my legs are on autopilot and I'm no longer in control and they'll just keep beating on until the wee voice says we can walk.

I think that might be the point in the cool down walk though because by time I get to my house my legs are loose again and ready for a good stretch.

I'll keep seeing it as a sign they've worked for now lol

Oh well done

Sounds like you flew it Robinstar😊

Afte doing 31 men nn stop sat I could only do 20mins for wk7 .1

Didn't feel well before hand so 20mins run n 10mins walking at the end

Not so bad.

Alas groin pain awful last night n so probably leave running for a few days

Probably shouldn't have tried the run

At least it's practice

Keep going your so close now

Regards

George
