Week5R3 Nailed it 😊

First of all a massive thank you to everyone who replied to my call for help and advice yesterday. I took it all on board and headed out today in the rain armed with an 'I can do this because I've prepared myself for it attitude'.

I found the encouragement every 5 minutes on the app really helpful and when I heard that I'd only 2 minutes to go there was no way I was giving up. It's a lot more running in one go than the previous 8 minutes but I was surprised that it didn't bring me as near to death as I'd previously thought it would. It really proved that all my previous runs had prepared me for it.

I'm so glad I asked for advice before I attempted it as it really is more of a mental battle and all the advice and encouragement I received changed my mindset totally before I set out.

Glad to hear you completed it ! Well done πŸ˜πŸ‘

Be mindful of week 6 runs 1 and 2 as going back to walking intervals catches people out !

Well done for successfully completing this milestone run! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Take care with W6R1. It catches some people out with the return to walking intervals. Slow and steady is the answer πŸ‘

Brilliant!

And you really shouldn't be surprised ... remember it's the TOTAL amount of running that counts, not that '8 minute' bit. It was 16 (SIXTEEN) minutes that your body experienced, not 8 minutes!

You've overcome the biggest mental hurdle in the program (apart from W1R1) - NOTHING else should faze you now. Get through Week 6 and you're then onto the home straight of Weeks 7, 8 and 9.

Remember what the goal is: 30 minutes of continuous running, 3 times in Week 9.

Eyes on the prize.

Crack on :-)

Glad u had a good run and enjoyed it. I’ve just had the same experience with run 3 wk6 and felt brilliant at the end. Getting a running bug 😬

Happy days. It really does make you feel great. I surprise myself now by even wanting to go run in the rain πŸ˜‚ Previously one raindrop would have been a full on 'abort mission" lol Good luck with Week 7

Thanks πŸ™ and well done for your W6 R3. You are officially a runner!

If you’ve got the running bug I’m afraid there is no hope. Soon, you will be wearing Lycra if you’re not already. You will be looking at other runners to check out their running shoes, or what kind of watch they have. When you’re not actually running, you will be thinking about running and running routes. And this is just the beginning! πŸ˜‚ Good luck πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
