End of Week 3

I did my third run this morning and enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to next week even though I'm wondering if I can run 5 minutes. Oh well, I'll give it my best shot

I think we've all been where you are right now- I found each increase totally daunting, but just went off with the mindset of "I'll do what I can"- and I got there- you will, too.🤸

C25K is a mental test - not a physical one. Why?

Because this a progressive exercise program - it's designed to be completely by almost anyone. It starts gentle and progresses from there.

So.... every run you do makes you a bit fitter and makes your body (not necessarily your mind) prepared for the next run. You accumulate fitness with every run and they all add up.

Week 1 was gentle enough to be done 'from the couch'. Week 2 was helped by the fitness gained in Week 1.

Week 3 ? You had Weeks 1 and 2 in the bank.

Week 4? You'll be fine - you have fitness from 9 runs in your legs.

The issue is confidence - that's all.

Go for it!

Thank you. that makes so much sense. I hadn't looked at it in that way.

You're welcome. It's how any progressive exercise experience works.

And no, most beginners don't realise that... It's not very obvious .

Every single run (jog!) , each week, is perfectly achievable, no matter how scary the apparent jump, as long as you go at the correct pace, i.e ...

I was where you are this time last week! But now, W4 done and I feel AMAZING!Just think how far you have come already. Yes it steps up every week but think how you felt when running for 1 minute in week 1. Honestly, I haven’t run for 30+ years and have always hated the idea. But this last week I actually started to enjoy it. Head up, think about your breathing and above all think about how GREAT you are and how FABULOUS and PROUD will feel when you get home!!! 👏👏👏👏

Go out there with a positive mindset Chrimson51 and you’ll definitely run for 5 minutes......in the words of Henry Ford.....whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’ll be right 👍🏃‍♀️
