Hello you lovely runners! How's your 2021 progress going?

Are you managing those weekly runs? Yes the weather's not the best at the moment, but remember when you're wet, you can't get any wetterπŸ€“.

Are you still finding you're able to get out and exercise given the covid situation that's still proving so problematic for a lot of us.

Those treadmills are probably seeing many miles if you own one!

My runolutions are still good: running 3 days a week. It has been even every other day up till now. Let's see if I can keep that up too. Though I am not too much worries about that. Most important is getting 3 runs in.

Ran CR4 yesterday, but feel as if I am going back down instead of up. The CR's are starting to feel harder instead of easier. Oh wel, if a walking break is needed, so be it. I am moving and that is most important!

Cheers,

Evy

Well done Hidden those 3 weekly runs are great especially during consolidation πŸ‘ and alternative days brilliant stuff, an extra rest day won't hurt at times πŸ™‚ two days is sometimes a treat 🀫

I’m still venturing out 3 times a week and am enjoying it. I signed up to AGE UK’S Run your age, (luckily it finishes just before my 48th birthday πŸ™„) it’s great to have motivation to get out there! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Back on it after 7 days of not running- due to busyness, then heavy snow, then guilt. Some strength training in between.

Today was such a TREAT- slow, steady pace just getting the cobwebs out of the way.

πŸ˜€πŸ€¨

The CR's runs are interesting - Using it as a time to learn what my body needs to run efficiently, this includes, walks, caffeine intake, water, food and time. I still have a few weeks left but I want to work on building endurance-which will need some planning but it's getting lighter so ill be able to get up earlier.

Hi guys. Just looking for a bit of advice and you all seem to be in the know on this thread. I’ve started the couch 2 5K....again. This is my 4th time. I always get up to week 8 and something happens. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚ but this time I’m so motivated to stick to it and complete to then continue using runs for fitness going forward. I know I need to have rest days. But once I’m finished homeschooling my children, completed my own work and my husband is home. I am left wanting and feeling the need to do more. Can I do other workouts on the days in-between? My schedule at the minute is to run Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. I’m having weekends off but I really feel I want to do other things on the Tuesdays and Thursdays or I’m just left holding out for my run day. Please can anyone suggest if this is safe practise and what I could do that’s light enough to not cause damage but also keep my fitness addict at bay. Many thanks guys. Keep up the good work. 😍

Hi xxx31773xxx that's the same running routine I used for my time working through couch to 5 k πŸ‘, how far through are you now? Have you conquered week8?

You're definitely doing the right thing and resisting running any extra days, frustrating as it is, your body those muscles need that rest and recovery time, to get them ready to go again.

Have you popped your head around the corner and looked inside out strength and flex program ? πŸ‘€, You should.. the Brilliant

CBDB will be on hand with all sorts of interesting, exercises, that go perfectly hand in hand with that running and those rest days.

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t conquered week 8 yet. I’m currently week 2 πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚ but I feel a different headspace with it this time and I KNOW I will do it. I’m new to this site so I will find a way to navigate around and look at the pages you suggested. Thank you. Anything I can do on my days off to keep me going will be great. Thanks again.
