3.3K in 30 minutes - not great, but I did shuffle on for 4.2K in total. I will get to 5K by January.

But only if I start in 10 minutes!

Your getting there, that's the important thing! Well done on the run 👍🏻

It was a hard lesson to take onboard, but when I eventually started celebrating my successes (3.3km in 30 minutes is a success!) instead of minimising them, my running life became a thing to celebrate. I learned that just getting out there is a success in and of itself. I find the following words helpful and I hope you do too: comparison is the thief of joy.👍🏴‍☠️

Brilliant well done!

You should be pleased if not I can’t be as at about the same position 😀 I am using the couch to 5 k plus podcasts to keep going there’s three to take you on as I need the structure of the programme. And they say a bad run is better than no run and there’s no rhyme or reason as to why some days are better than others. Keep going x

Thanks all. At least my ankles were fine rmthis time. I had the normal aches eg thighs. I will look at the post graduation podcasts. I will do the post grad 30 minute run on Sunday and Wednesday. After Christmas I might dare to complete the shorter 'sprint' intervals and jog. I may even use W1 podcast as a timing aid. At least I am off the couch. I feel so much fitter. Plus I am going 35-40 minute jogs occasionally. In September I struggled to do one minute non stop!

BTW Captain P. That's a great quote.

I graduated on the 9th October with 3.34km in my 30 minutes. I’ve been going out 2 or 3 times a week since then. This week I covered 3.56km in my 30 minute run 🐌 so I wouldn’t be feeling so bad if I were you 😂

What I have been doing is playing over on the Bridge to 10k forum. I’m following JuJu’s Magic Plan, using the timed version to gradually increase the length of my runs.

I’m now on W7, and in today’s long run, I jogged (slowly!) for 55minutes...I covered 5.66km 😊 This is the 4th week I’ve run non stop for 5+km, the 5Kms have all been recorded at around 49 minutes.

What I’m trying to say (I think) is don’t get disheartened...I’m 65 and will never be speedy...but we all get out there and do the best we can. You have that 5k in you too...just be prepared that it could take you 50 minutes!

👍🐌🐢🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🙌🏼🌟🥰
