10 out of 10.

January has been quite subdued after the high of graduating and my parkrun debut.

2 weeks of parkrun were missed because of snow and the ice on the pavement this morning meant I ducked out again!

Now the cold does not bother me but a fall and possible collar bone or wrist injury would be a big deal for me!

Work and a heavily pregnant wife would be quite unhappy if I was in plaster!

So when the sun came out later I shunned the treadmill and set off on a steady long run aiming to go for about 50mins (my longest yet).

52 minutes later I had completed my first 10K.

The blues I had felt this morning have melted away to leave the biggest grin on my face for some time!

Again it comes back to saying thank you to C25K for providing such a great foundation and somehow convincing me I can run.

Thank you for the kind words. I think we are all finding a bit of a lift from the (slightly) better weather. Spring hasn't quite sprung but the good thing about putting the hard work in during the winter is we can all enjoy the fruits of our labour in the sunshine this summer!

Thank you all. My wife has been laughing as I have been quite full of myself all day!

She keeps reminding me how I used to say running was a daft hobby that ruins your knees and was for people who were yet to discover how good cycling was!

I will now quite happily eat my words though!
