An early run for us at 8.50. Children still going into schools. Took our counterclockwise route. Overcast but a bit warmer than it has been. The muted air emphasised the Xmas lights in nearby houses. Gangs of parakeets about, making a right racket. Crows, magpies, gulls, a unseen sweet-singing bird somewhere in a thicket. Park keepers at work collecting leaves: one with hand-held blower, another driving tractor with a special vacuuming trailer. In places, we were running in its muddy tyre tracks. New saplings have been planted and freshly mulched. They still had tags with the name of the park. Noticed the green flag flying over the park keepersโ yard; theyโve won an award.
We ran in silence most of the time, with just occasional chats. Our aim was to start more slowly. We succeeded. I had a plan to join in the GPS-map โartโ challenge on Bridge forum, which would also be a new technical challenge for me. Tried to draw a snow-person with our run but ended up making a sort of reindeery thing. Rudolf at rest. If you use imagination. Great fun. Even M thought so as we ran around in odd places.
31:52, 4.18 km, 7:38.
7:58, 7:22, 7:30, 7:51, (6:39). The fourth km is the art-making section. And look how fast we ran at the very end!!

Great trail piccie GailXrunning looks brilliant and totally away from hustle and bustle ๐๐
Lots to see on your run and a good pace again. Sounds like adding the art element has really piqued your interest- gives you something else to think about other than just the foot pounding and heavy breathing. I went out yesterday- legs felt surprisingly heavy early on so will be leaving an extra dayโs rest before I do my next one. Iโll leave the art work to you when I venture out though
Aww, go on, give it a whirl!! I bet youโd be brilliant at it! (The worse it is, the funnier... so you win whatever.)
I think M and I should step back to a double rest-day too. Havenโt felt too bad on the runs, even when we overpaced ourselves, but weโre both clattered later on in the day.
Sounds like another good run, your really smashing through these consolidation runs, nice pace to, faster than me ๐คฃ i like the running art, one of my shorter routes, for early c25k runs, looked like a dagger, on strava! ๐คฃI've had 2ร35 min runs this week, one with my daughter, and on my own tonight, my try another 6k on saturday!
Well done for your just over 4K. I do love that distance! I think itโs because I know it takes me just under 30 minutes, which is the perfect time for a shortish run.
Great that you managed to set off more slowly. I have trouble with that on every run ๐
Iโm enjoying your attention and detail of nature. One of the things I love about running is being outdoors and taking in my surroundings ๐ฟ๐ฒ.However nature nearly collided with me on my run the other day when a squirrel ๐ฟ ran right in front of me on the path and luckily I just missed it!!!
Gosh really! It gave me quite a shock as it was so close and darted out from nowhere at top speed! When I used to go to Center Parcs my mum called ๐ฟ automated squirrels ๐.Do you think they are trying to hinder our progress?
Your descriptions of your runs always make me feel Iโm just a few strides behind you listening in ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ 30 mins and 4 K is a nice consolidation run to play about with pace etc.
I think I did so many of them that I got a bit fatigued with them but I also knew they โwere good for me โ .
Keep having fun on the ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
