An early run for us at 8.50. Children still going into schools. Took our counterclockwise route. Overcast but a bit warmer than it has been. The muted air emphasised the Xmas lights in nearby houses. Gangs of parakeets about, making a right racket. Crows, magpies, gulls, a unseen sweet-singing bird somewhere in a thicket. Park keepers at work collecting leaves: one with hand-held blower, another driving tractor with a special vacuuming trailer. In places, we were running in its muddy tyre tracks. New saplings have been planted and freshly mulched. They still had tags with the name of the park. Noticed the green flag flying over the park keepersβ yard; theyβve won an award.
We ran in silence most of the time, with just occasional chats. Our aim was to start more slowly. We succeeded. I had a plan to join in the GPS-map βartβ challenge on Bridge forum, which would also be a new technical challenge for me. Tried to draw a snow-person with our run but ended up making a sort of reindeery thing. Rudolf at rest. If you use imagination. Great fun. Even M thought so as we ran around in odd places.
31:52, 4.18 km, 7:38.
7:58, 7:22, 7:30, 7:51, (6:39). The fourth km is the art-making section. And look how fast we ran at the very end!!
