Well, that's consolidation run no.8 done β and it was the darkest run yet (must buy head torch if I'm going to continue with these early morning runs?!) and my longest run yet!!!!! 6.16km in 44mins, average pace 7.10km/min. Not my fastest pace but I had to slow it down a few times to see where I was running and avoid a fair few giant puddles. Anyway, I am pleased with that and I feel good now, ready to crack on with the day πͺπ»
My original plan this morning was to do a nice steady 5km but I felt I had more in the tank again at 5km so I pressed on.. I think 6km is feeling like a new normal for me and I might be able to legitimately head on over to Bridge to 10k for my next challenge!?!?! π€ͺOMG am I really saying I am going to run for 10k? With Jericho's sterling efforts recently to reach 10k seemingly without too much drama (see what you've done now Jericho?!) I must say it's has spurred me on to look further and not stick at the 5km - which in itself has been such a milestone to reach. But now, I'm ready for a new challenge π
New wave tunes were pumping again today (thank you JOBOXERS and DEXYs, some excellent pounding beats, perfect for running). Realising now how crucial a good playlist is to me on my runs.. "Oh Genoooooo" (sorry to the man walking his dog who heard that coming up behind him at 7am!) π
Happy Friday and happy running you lovely lot x

Excellent stuff! That's some good running ππ» as for big puddles I just run through them π€£ going for 10k isn't as daunting as it sounds, once you find a comfortable pace to run at, keeping going is just really in your head. I'd certainly recommend it as a target ππ» build it up slowly. Your already running for nearly an hour anyway so getting yourself a graduate60 badge on the 10k forum won't be a million miles away for you. The weather here is awful and I'm off work again π€¦πΌββοΈ hoping it clears up a bit so I can run in the morning π€π»
Thanks π You're right, it is totally the keeping going thing. I actually could've kept going this morning but I'd come to the end of my route and was hitting a busy high street, kinda put me off my stride! The weather has been grim too which isn't ideal. Planning a good run Sunday morning so will see how I go.
Well done, your steaming ahead now, looks a pretty fast pace to me π₯΅, and you said you had to slow down a bit! π€£ i'm going for 6k tomorrow, but nice and slow π, you'll be getting to 10k, before you know it!!! π
Ha! Thanks. I did have to slow down a bit and was a bit stop start with traffic lights where I did my "running on the spot now with arms waving around to keep blood circulating" look π Good luck for your 6km run tomorrow. What's another 1km on top of what you've been smashing out anyway!?!
Ah..I feel your pain! Will check out your write up, missed that. I am not a fan of running later in the day anymore, it just doesn't work for me either. I am still amazed I seem to have become an early morning runner π³
Fantastic run and what a pace!! You must be feeling greatππππ. That 10k target is waiting for you. Congratulations.ππ.π¦ππ’πββοΈπ
Wooo congratulations on running your furthest distance!! And a good pace for it too, such great progress! Maybe see you over on the Bridge to 10k forum sometime soon, I'm tempted!
Pleasssseee come over there and we can support each other! Go on, you know you want to ππ Look how far we've come. We smashed the 5k challenge, surely only right now to go for 10k... π€π¦π¦π¦
Thank you GailX ππ I know, that boy Jericho, I'm still trying to work out how he literally "gazelled" his way over to 10k so fast. Certainly a great inspiration!π¦π¦π¦
That was a really positive post- ππ»youβre on a roll -building up the distance nicely - Iβm heading out for mine tomorrow morning-letβs hope I can keep the gazelle team good luck going π¦
