Your boy has only gone and done it! Couch-to-5k is done and dusted. The weeks have flown by... tonight I varied my route quite a lot which made things very interesting, as well as the music which included a lot of Kiwi classics from bands like The Exponents and Supergroove.
I was a bit disappointed that Jo didn't record separate audio for the end of the final run. Also, because I got a new phone over the weekend and re-installed the app, despite logging back in again it hadn't restored my earlier runs. Which means the final trophy icon didn't light up after the final run (I am assuming it was meant to). That's sloppy programming! (I develop apps myself).
I have to admit that I did in fact keep running after Jo hung up her mic and went home the last two sessions, making it to 5kms each time. Don't worry, I warmed up/down and stretched... I did martial arts for many years so I know how to avoid injuring myself.
So, I'm extra happy about completing the program, and thanks to everyone for their support, especially Dodgylungs who got me into this in the first place!
What happens now? I've got the Nik Run Club app installed and I'll give that a try, my plan is to keep running 5kms every second night and gently increase my pace to prepare for the Hackney 5k in May.

Well done Lucas, you deserve all the bragging rights. This is a towering achievement and one that you can keep building on. I look forward to running with you at some point. I'm thinking about attempting Mad Juju's 10K beans....I don't feel I'm quite ready yet, but I have a feeling, since you're already going beyond 30 mins that you will be doing that distance sooner rather than later. What martial arts did you do? I used to do Shotokan Karate.
Congratulations pr0 - fantastic achievement 🎉💪 and well done on the 5ks. I know what you mean about the app being slightly simplistic - there were fireworks at the very end of the final warm down walk but I think they'd have been easy to miss - would've been nice at the end of the 30 minutes - but the programme has brought us a long way and Jo was my rock during the nine weeks so happy to overlook that 😃
Congratulations Graduate🏆, well done👏👏👏. WoW your storming ahead already, 2 x 5ks, I'm extremely impressed....enjoy the next stage of your running journey😁😁. 🦌🐢🐌🏃♀️🙋
