Hardest so far! Consolidation run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ no 8

Had a hard week, fatigue is back, meds making my bones & muscles ache so thought my run maybe a challenge!

I managed 3k in 22 minutes with a average pace 7:24. (Last run pace was 7:42!) once I stopped I felt sick ๐Ÿค’!

Still get that great feeling afterwards though.

3 pbs on strava ๐Ÿ˜‰

I guess I am starting off to fast!

I reckon I would be a good little runner ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ if I didnโ€™t have the cancer recovery & on going treatment going on!

Still I have to be kind to myself so am pleased that Iโ€™m doing what I am - no way I could have done this last year as on chemo!

Lovely weekend all. x

My goodness Angie09, it sounds to me that you ARE a good little runner, no โ€œifโ€ required - a cracking pace, considerably faster than me.๐Ÿ˜„

Be kind to yourself, if you are feeling tired, go gently and use your โ€œhappy paceโ€ - comfortable & not pushing. Everybody has hard runs at times - you are doing brilliantly. ๐Ÿ˜„

You are doing so well and looks like itโ€™s all about pacing yourself which Iโ€™m not doing at the moment. I now realise I need to go slower and then I will be able to run for longer over time.

I am a cyclist too, just indoors which has really helped me with my fitness. I just need to get the balance right - which I am not doing at the moment. x

I use cycling as my main โ€œrest dayโ€ exercise, I think it goes well with running - strong knees! ๐Ÿ˜„

I think it takes a while to use running at different speeds โ€“ when we do C25K as beginner runners, many of us have one pace which is โ€œjust managing โ€œ! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I really like slowing it down & building duration/ distance. After consolidation, I did jujus magic 10 plan โ€“ the timed version, to take me up to running for one hour. ๐Ÿ˜„

Oh my gosh!! You are an absolute super hero ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ

Your pace is wonderful but simply the fact that you are doing this whilst going through treatment is incredible in itself and you should be really proud of yourself for getting out there.

I am sure it is offering you lots of mental health benefits as well as physical, but it would be all too easy to sit back and do nothing.

Like Ellie said, not sure if you are pushing yourself but it's not about pace right now (for those average runners that have just graduated), just miles in the legs. I hope you can "relax" and just enjoy the exercise.

A sincere well done from me. Genuinely. Hats off to you. ๐Ÿ‘’

Ah thank you. Yes I am pushing myself to hard. Itโ€™s just so frustrating that I want to be who I was before. Sadly I cannot and will need time to accept that I guess.

The meds - make we walk down the stairs like a crab ๐Ÿฆ€- sideways lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ which makes we feel like a little old lady ๐Ÿ‘ต!! BUT these meds are suppressing oestrogen hormones so the cells donโ€™t go rogue again!

To run I have to strap up my knees & ankles which is ok and thatโ€™s helps me a lot.

I will slow down on my next run - promise. xx
