Consolidation R3

Morning all! I'm feeling a little bit more cheery today despite a lockdown approaching and despite me working out that last month and this month il only be paid for 6 days work πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€£ (I don't qualify for a grant as only been self employed for under a year!)

I woke up late, my headphones were not charged, I had new running gear to try out(more on that later) so I was convinced everybody would be pointing and laughing at how silly I looked, then my running shoes had been put away!

Not gonna let this spoil my mood! Pulled on the new gear, used a torch to dig through bedroom to find shoes without waking up the entire household 🀣 and decided to have my first naked run. Also decided to not look at phone until I thought I was close to 30 mins.

Surprise surprise nobody really paid me much attention, heard no sniggers at my fancy new running get up 🀣 decided to attack same course as last run to see if it was any easier and have to say it was much better! No pain, tired yes but not hurting like I was last week. Legs didn't feel like lead. After the first estimated 10 mins I was much further on than last time, or felt it. Keep up the pace I thought, second 10 again uneventful and still plodding away nicely knowing in the back of my mind I was getting toward a hill section if I was faster than last week. Got to where I thought 30 mins was (roughly where I stopped last run) 22 mins! Wow OK I thought, now I'm definitely having to tackle this hill section 🀣 downhill was nice, didn't go to fast so as not to be worn out for the uphill! As it hit I could feel it getting tougher, it's not a major slope but right toward the end of a 5k it certainly makes a difference! Tackled it though and felt great at the peak, checked the watch again and still few minutes left! Way way further than I'd ran last week! Foot down I thought! Sped up for last two mins as best I could and had made it back onto the actual road I live on! Happily stopped my watch at 3.2 miles and checked my times. A very decent run overall and I think without the uphill section at the end I would have beaten my previous best time without really trying. Very pleased overall!

Running gear news: so to go with my recent running jacket, I ordered some running tights, running shorts and a headband/earwarmer combo! They were really comfortable to run in (new balance from m&m direct for the clothes and amazon for the headband) and once I'd got outside the door and passed the first couple of people I'd forgotten all about them tbh) certainly easier to tun in that the old trakkie though 🀣

Had a cheery few good mornings from fellow runners as I panted around the course! Maybe a c2k5er or 2?🀣

The photos I've added contain my data and a pic of the moon and the rising sun that were taken within seconds of each other, such a strange but pretty morning!

I'm gonna enjoy yet another unpaid day off work 🀣 find something to do with my youngest daughter (teachers training day for her school) and not let covid19/lockdown/finances ruin such a lovely autumn day πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏻

Enjoy it everyone and good luck if your running today x

Sorry to hear about the rubbish impact the pandemic is having on your work situation Jericho, but glad to see you’re still getting out there running and trying to find the silver linings. Sounded like a great run - even with the challenge of the uphill section!! Hope you have a fab day πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈβœ¨

Life throws up c**p all the time, but if we can get out and appreciate our environment and our amazing bodies by a simple run, then we are putting ourselves in the best possible place to face it and tackle it headlong.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Your not wrong! πŸ‘πŸ» Costs nothing to get out there in nature luckily so will enjoy that and hopefully the rest will take care of itself 😁

Thank goodness we all now having running to keep us sane. Who would've thought we'd be saying THAT back in Week 1?? I'm sorry to hear you're being impacted by the pandemic and lockdown 2 looming. It's rubbish on many many fronts and impacting everyone in so many different ways. All we can do, is keep smashing out those runs. It would be silly not to, us now being RUNNERS :-)

I am so glad to hear your CR3 was an improvement on your last and sounds like you smashed that hill which is so good for building endurance. What a great pic!! I am loving the sound of your new kit. Ah yes, it feels so good to run in new kit, I hope the headband situ is good for keeping those earbuds in now?? Pulling my headband on for a run is now such a part of my prep, I'd be lost without it. It gets me "in the zone" :-) You'll miss those trackies!! lol

I got W9R2 in the bag this morning and it felt so GOOD. I cannot wait for graduation now, almost there..

Sounds like an awesome run there Jericho. πŸ‘ Well done - over 5k again πŸ’ͺ And what a beautiful sunrise you captured πŸŒ…

Sorry to hear about the negative impact that the pandemic is having on your earnings - looks like you have an amazing attitude towards it though and may this running lark is helping - it's certainly good for the soul and our mental health.

Sounds like you had a great run despite the depressing lockdown scenario. Really starting to clock up the km now-leaving us all in the dust- must be the new running gear!

Winning! πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ Sounds like a great run Jeri (Can I call you Jeri?) and another 5K! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ€©

It’s lovely when fellow runners are friendly. I got an air high five in passing once 😁 One of these days I’ll be brave enough to ask someone if they’re doing C25K.

It’s funny, I did one run without announcements just to see how it felt and like you, I figured I’d done about 30mins and it turned out to be 22..!

Sorry to hear about your lack of grant but glad your running is bringing some joy. Little victories πŸ’ͺ🏼🌟

Hey Jericho the new running gear sounds fab and it’s certainly seems to be doing the trick with your speed, sounds like an almost dream run.

It’s tough times for many people at the moment, I’ve got my fingers crossed you get your situation sorted as soon as possible. I hope you managed something fun with your daughter.

Thanks everybody! Coming on here every morning and seeing all the positive posts always helps to cheer me up πŸ‘πŸ»

Rest day today running wise but plenty of housework to keep me busy 🀣 all the kids back to school now so get a bit more done. Think il maybe take the bike out for an hour too just for some fresh air.

I think a few of you guys in the later weeks are due runs, good luck if it's today πŸ‘πŸ» Il likely be back at it in the morning 😁
