Well, all my plans of going for a morning run were ruined as I could not open our front door! Thankfully locksmith was able to come out in the morning, although unable to fix the lock as did not have the correct part he was able to put on a temporary lock so I was able to take my mum to her hospital appointment as planned.
I went out around 4.30pm and ran my fastest 5k to date! 32.02 was so happy to come out of the 33 minutes. Enjoyed the run and no niggles with my knee so all good.

That was unfortunate about your door, glad that it was fixed and you could take your mum for her hospital appointment, excellent run for you today, sub 33 minutes 👍🏃🏾
It was going to be a long run tomorrow, perhaps more than ten miles, however, I got a call from the gas people who are visiting me for a safety gas maintenance check, I will have to stay at home until they come.
Yes, was nice to see new number but my goal eventually is to increase my distance. I went up to quickly to 6k I think so going to keep going with the 5k so blown away with other runners running 10k
Brilliant! Well done. It must have seemed like a conspiracy this morning, but you ran today anyway. Wow, that’s an impressive time; you are faster than me! 👏👏👏🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️👍
At least it was all sorted and you got her to the hospital in time for her appointment.
I am sure it won’t be long until you’re running 10K !! Are you doing JuJu’s Magic plan? I didn’t do it, because by the time I knew about it, I wasn’t far off running for 60 minutes. Really slowly. Then I just increased that until I got to 10K. I think it was the slowest 10K ever, though - over 1.5 hours. 😀
You’ll find The Magic Plan over on the Bridge to 10K forum. There are 2 different parts to it - the ‘time’ version, which takes you up to 60 minutes or the ‘distance’ version, which takes you up to 10K.
On the Bridge to 10K forum, just click on ‘posts’ then ‘pinned’. That’s where to find it. You can do it at any time on your own, or wait until she starts a new one and join with others.
From that photo it's the door frame bolt mechanism that's been broken, not the lock (the thing that you put the key into) itself. That's unfortunate.
The type of door you have has a replaceable lock which can be changed easily by removing one screw and turning the key just so. It then slides out of a keyhole shaped aperture (which you can see in the photo) and a new lock can be slid in and the screw replaced.
Running jacket I have wanted for so long has finally come in stock so excited (I know you will get it!!!) was so lucky to get 25% discount. Still very expensive but my big treat to myself
