Consolidation run 5 today said to all week I going to do a park run got up this morning head said no guess my anxiety kicked in ,so off I went on one of my runs so disappointed in my self that I didn’t do the park run stayed out there and enjoyed the run and to my amazement I run 🏃‍♂️ 7.2k so bad start ended on. High

Well done, but a word of caution.

Seeing as you only graduated a very short time ago, 7.2k is well in excess of the 10% rule advocated in the guide to post C25k running.

This period, immediately post graduation, has a bad reputation as the time when new runners get there first injuries.

Ok thanks for the advice I felt great so kept on running but thanks again I will cut it back to 5k 👍

I m guessing you re going to go for it next Saturday 👍. Congratulations 🥳 . Let us know how you do ..... I m in a similar situation. Week 9 next week but not ready distance wise for a parkrun 🤷‍♀️

Good luck with week 9 trust the plan it works just relax and drink plenty of water on your non run days happy running

Your consolidation runs are going great, just be careful not to do too much too soon .

I always run on my own so I was nervous of going to my first parkrun . Once I ran the first one the nerves just vanished. Give it a try I'm sure you'll love it . 😊😊

Just a thought, you don't need to do parkrun it's just something else that is running . If you're quite happy running by yourself then do that. 😊😊

Think on my days off I cross train on a indoor bike 15k think it helps

Well done Pete1212 on a great run, running that distance is an achievement so soon after graduating.

I’m sure you’ll do the park run soon, and equally sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy it.

I was a little apprehensive today, but managed to do my first one.

Well done that's an amazing achievement.

Can I suggest that if doing a park run doesn't feel comfortable for you at the moment or makes you nervous, don't be disappointed, it may just not be for you.

You don't have to do park runs, they're not for everyone.

If you are enjoying your runs it doesn't matter - it doesn't have to be your goal. I know they're really popular but they are certainly not for me.

I avoided the park run this morning which was going on in the same place I was running. It was so noisy and I just want to run in the quiet!
