Morning everyone...firstly, if you are going out this morning and it is icy underfoot then take extra care, or maybe even consider cancelling your run until it warms up a bit, no point risking an injury with a nasty slip or fall.
Anyhoo...this morning I ran my 5th consolidation run, I walked the route first ( as a warm up ) to check for any icy patches and fortunately the paths / roads had been gritted last night so I was good to go.
The run went well without any slips, trips or falls, which is always good, plus I've developed this weird love of running when it's freezing cold, it was -1 this morning which was perfect, maybe it's because that post run Hot Chocolate tastes so much better on a cold morning.
Either way, it was a lovely run, plus I ran the furthest distance I have covered since starting / graduating C25K, I've gone from hardly being able to run, to running over 6k without stopping and I really believe this is a testament to how good this plan is, so if you are just starting out or part way through the plan, then keep on going as it really can be life changing.

Well done Andy, I think you should delete your weight from your username, glad you enjoyed your walk and run this morning, not too many people walk the whole course before they run it, wise decision checking on any ice.
Thanks Al...I have the weight on my username to remind me what I used to weigh before starting C25K, I'm a little lighter now at 12st 6lbs which is down to the running and healthy eating of course.
Hi Andy, Thanks for the warning, not running this morning, but I wouldn't dare attempt it if there was any sign of frost, (they don't grit our village roads) as I have a balance problem, and no I didn't have one too many last night 😂 doing dry January anyway! Did my first consolidation Run yesterday, must say I struggled, very slow and did't know why, legs just felt heavy and I wanted to turn back after five minutes! However, I carried on and fell into a very slow pace, and kept thinking when Laura says (was using W9R3 as a Guide) Walk, I would carry on an extra ten minutes, which I did and just managed 3Miles! which I know is roughly 5K, so very well done on your 6K+! Hopefully doing Clumber Park park run on Saturday, will keep you posted. Keep up the good work! 🏃♂️
Hi John...thanks very much, I too found the first consolidation a bit tough, but just like you I battled on through to complete it, the others have been a little easier though.
No run for me.. went out and had to turn back.. carefully! Could not even get out to the fields...I like many of us will not even contemplate running if icy.... Think Bambi!
