Still running, still smiling - still pondering getting a Versa 2

Graduated on the August Bank Holiday weekend have have run pretty much every other day since. It’s still graft but the good runs are far outweighing the difficult ones and I am determined to continue.

Has anyone used a Fitbit Versa 2 and are they any good? I am pondering treating myself as I think it would mean that I can run without having my phone with me.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated 😊

I have the Garmin vivoactive 4s.. chosen for its features but finally because all other smart watches were miles too big for my thin wrist.. I really love it.

I had a quick look at the Fitbit Versa 2 and it seems to have all the same features, so hopefully someone else on here will respond soon, as it looks like there are some good offers on it today..

Thanks. Yeah, that’s what’s pushing me to take the plunge 😉 I love a ‘bargain’ 😂

I am not very techie and I wondered how long it took to set up the Garmin watch and how easy you found it to set up? I've been thinking about getting one, but the tech side puts me off, it might end up just sitting in a drawer! I've a very small wrist too :)

I found it fairly easy once I gave up trying to do it without reading the instructions! The Garmin Connect app works well on my iPhone and it’s easy to just click on each icon and work through what they mean.. I’m possibly not using all the features - there are a few videos on youtube etc I keep meaning to look at..

But mine certainly won’t end up in a drawer.. I didn’t even wear a watch before but now I keep it on 24/7.. except for charging daily when I’m in the shower. I hate carrying stuff when I’m out so it’s great being able to leave my phone at home.. my only issue is that it doesn’t get whatsapp notifications, only text messages..

Thanks for that, I will do some searching and reading up on it. Most of the ones I've seen in shops have been far too big and clunky.

Fitbits are 'lifestyle' devices and not really made for running. I'd advise to avoid Fitbit altogether from a running point of view. It may have lots of features but Fitbits are notoriously inaccurate when it comes to GPS and heart rate... AVOID.

Focus instead on a dedicated running watch, e.g. Garmin 45

I have a vivoactive 4s just the right size. Not had it long just trying to get to grips with all the features but that is just me. Love it so far. Us d to have a fitbit charge 2. Garmin much more accurate than that 😁

Sorry no idea about the Fitbit (altho my husband has the Fitbit Ionic which he loves) but just wanted to say how brilliant that you’ve been out pretty much every other day since finishing, that’s really great 💪I’m interested in what you’re all doing post grad to get some ideas for me 😊 Really good to know the good runs are outweighing the difficult 😃

I have a versa lite and find it good. the versa 2 is slightly better. I was a little doubtful about the accuracy of the heart rate tracking while running but have compared it using a chest strap monitor and found it only 1 or 2 beats different so trust it now.
