Just finished my 2nd session .... was tough but got on with it .... not sure if I'm 'cheating' by doing it on my treadmill at home .... but have osteoarthritis in my knees & find the treadmill is lessening the pain ! I guess the fact I'm attempting this challenge is enough .... I'm feeling proud of myself
2nd session of week 1: Just finished my 2nd... - Couch to 5K
2nd session of week 1
Nope, not cheating. If and when you feel ready to run outside you'll know. I was a treadmill runner for years, but got sick of the gym fees, now I'm an outside lover (if its flat!) I'm just starting up again after an enforced break- on week 2, taking things slow.
No you’re not cheating Ffb, lots of people do their C25K on a treadmill - a run is a run wherever it’s run! The only downside is that the view never changes! Good luck with the plan!
Nothing wrong with using the treadmill. Just tilt the gradient to 0.5 if it can do that. They say that’s the equivalent to running on the road.
Hi I've just done w1 r2 on a treadmill ! Good luck with it, lets hope we both stick to it, my knees are so creeky but so far ok... I didn't know if I was running fast enough, but I just did what I could...
Not cheating! I started cto5k on a treadmill because of knee arthritis, wanting to make sure my knees felt 'safe'.
However you might find your knees improve a lot as you will build leg muscles and you might want to venture outside. Once I ran outside I only used a treadmill a handful of times. I have got rid of it as an am a complete outdoor convert. That said, if it suits you there's nothing to stop you carrying on running on a treadmill at all.
Thank you for your replies .... I guess a jog is a jog however you do it ..... we can do this
