So so pleased. I pushed on this morning and ran my first 5k. Took me 39 minutes and those extra 9 minutes were a killer!!

I’ve had a really hard year battling breast cancer. This time last year I started chemo, lost my hair and had the stuffing knocked out of me!

I started indoor cycling in June to help regain my fitness and started C25K to help with my bone 🦴 health.

Has taken my much longer than 9 weeks to get to this point as I really did have to listen to my body and take it easy.

Hoping to do the same distance on my last run probably next week and then I want to try to be a weekly runner whilst carrying on my cycling.

(I did 200 miles for Cancer Research in September !!) please check our my page below and my gallery of pictures which tells my journey.

I am buzzing 🐝.

Well done! πŸ‘

Now for a telling off for doing more than 10% over what you did the previous week.

Oh dear I guess that’s why I was so exhausted? Should I have stopped at 33 minutes then? Think that’s within the 10% as last run was 30 minutes.πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

The 10% rule applies from one week to the next. That's why week 8 is 28 minutes and week 9 is 30 minutes.

Congratulations! You're amazing. No way my body would have let me do all that cycling as well as the C25K plan . That's without the kicking yours has taken over the last year.

Will you keep posting after finishing .It's the type of inspiration we all need to give us hope when we hit tough times.

Yes I will. I’m hoping to run once a week now if I can. It’s amazing how exercising combates fatigue, so as I am still experiencing chemo side effects the exercise is really helping me.

Thank you. Although will always be hanging over me I have been given all clear. With meds for 10 years & lots of follow up appointments etc. A new me which post cancer I am hoping will be a fitter person. So a silver lining. 😁
