W5R3βœ… Who are you? πŸ€”

So, as usual I read as many posts as I could before I headed out as they are such an inspiration and motivator. Today the ones about the gremlins πŸ‘Ίwere particularly pertinent as I have been worrying all weekend about doing this run. A special thank you to Burkey46 whose reply I read as I was literally walking out the door so I went off feeling determined πŸ’ͺ

I decided I’d change the dance tunes for The Who today as someone last week had completed this run with them.

After the first 5 minutes I thought another 15 seemed like an age but I was taking it slow and steady and told myself that I WAS going to do this πŸ’ͺ My breathing was pretty good and I actually started to feel good about myself and what I was achieving, which on W1 had felt impossible. Just as Jo told me I was on the final 2 minutes β€˜Who Are You? ’ started playing! Don’t worry I’m not going to launch into my autobiography 🀣 but suffice it to say it really did make me think!!!

I was so thrilled to have finished and incredibly, with a bit more in the tank. Unfortunately on the warm down walk β€˜The Kids Are Alright’ started playing which made me all teary πŸ˜’πŸ™„ (story for another day!) but hopefully the passers by thought it was just perspiration 🀣 This program is amazing and thank you everyone for the fantastic support and advice, I really couldn’t do it without you 😊

Onwards to W6 πŸ˜ƒ

Good post from you, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran πŸƒπŸΎ

Wow CazzaW. Well done!!! It’s the most daunting run but the absolute euphoria when you finish it is amazing. If we could bottle that feeling we would be millionaires - but you get it at the end of every run now. Enjoy all of it!!! Bloomin magic running!!! Congratulations.

Did W6R1 Sunday morning...listened to Planet Rock as it was back to intervals. Will do the same tomorrow for R2.

Morning. So pleased you overcame your gremlins. I am the best prevaricator and am currently struggling. I am determined... just not today.

Enjoy 😊

Sorry to hear you are struggling πŸ™ It’s strange how the way we feel about it fluctuates so much on a daily basis. I think there are so many things in our lives both physically and mentally that affect it.

Just think of how far you’ve already come 😊

Keep going and keep posting, we’re all behind you πŸ‘

It’s an amazing achievement isn’t it. I completed that yesterday as well and plan to do it again tomorrow. I’ve struggled all the way through and to keep me going I just repeated weeks before going on to th next one. I’m actually feeling excited about repeating it and never in my life would I have felt excited about a run πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. Well done to you.

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to Pushingit

I would say don’t repeat it if you’ve already completed it (especially as it’s back to intervals on W6) but obviously you must do what you know is right for you 😊 It’s a weird feeling isn’t it to actually feel excited about it 🀣

Hope it goes well and let us know when you’re on W6, it’s good to be on the same week as others πŸ‘

Pushingit profile image
PushingitGraduate in reply to CazzaW

Tempted not to repeat it now and just start week 6. Will decide in the morning

I've got a mixed playlist as decided I really needed to update my songs as was stuck in a groove. I never thought of The Who. Which ones or all of them? You've got me thinking...

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to booksie

I wouldn’t have thought of The Who either altho’ I do love them and saw them live a couple of years ago... still going strong! It was rock chick LottieMW that had done the same run to Tommy that inspired me! My personal fav is Don’t Get Fooled Again (very meaningful on some of these runs πŸ˜‚) and I like Who Are You, too. I just searched their greatest hits and modified it to suit me.

booksie profile image
booksieGraduate in reply to CazzaW

Sorry I didn't get back to you- will download it today. Sounds like we are from same "generation" 😁. I saw "Tommy" in 1975or was it '76? in an old cinema in Glasgow. Actually I've been trawling through Apple Music and found Justin Bieber is great to run to. Who would have thought a chick from "that" era would be doing this ??? Ha ha!

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to booksie

That’s funny as I’ve also got Justin Bieber on one of my β€˜modern’ πŸ˜‚ playlists! What Do You Mean? played very helpfully one day as I was struggling a bit and spurred me on! Have decided I think I’ll go with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack for today’s run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Good luck with your next run 😊

And...well done!!

Well done Caz. I have this run to do on Saturday and I'm a bit worried as I found the x 2 8 minutes quite intense. Your post has reassured me though. x

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to udntwinfrndswitsalad

Thank you and am glad to have reassured you πŸ™‚ I β€˜run’ very slowly and am not thinking at all about distance, apparently that will come over time. Just keep it slow and steady and make sure your breathing is good.

Good luck and let us know how you get on, there are a few of us at this stage now πŸ‘

You can do this πŸ’ͺ

udntwinfrndswitsalad profile image
udntwinfrndswitsalad in reply to CazzaW

Yay. I did it today. Decided I wanted to just go for it. I think I managed nearly 4k in the 30 minutes so really proud of myself. When only 10 minutes have passed its a bit of a slog. I tried running on grass in the park for some bits but wanted to go back onto the paving as thats what I'm used to haha. Thanks again for your encouragement. Roll on week 6!

CazzaW profile image
CazzaWGraduate in reply to udntwinfrndswitsalad

Great, well done so pleased for you πŸ‘πŸ‘ 4k sounds a good distance too πŸ‘Œ

I’m the same about the grass, isn’t it strange. I think if there’s a bit of grass I should go on it as it should be easier on the knees but then it doesn’t feel familiar like the pavement and I’m worried I’m going to fall over too πŸ˜‚

Just off out for first run of W6 πŸ’ͺ
