So, as usual I read as many posts as I could before I headed out as they are such an inspiration and motivator. Today the ones about the gremlins πΊwere particularly pertinent as I have been worrying all weekend about doing this run. A special thank you to Burkey46 whose reply I read as I was literally walking out the door so I went off feeling determined πͺ
I decided Iβd change the dance tunes for The Who today as someone last week had completed this run with them.
After the first 5 minutes I thought another 15 seemed like an age but I was taking it slow and steady and told myself that I WAS going to do this πͺ My breathing was pretty good and I actually started to feel good about myself and what I was achieving, which on W1 had felt impossible. Just as Jo told me I was on the final 2 minutes βWho Are You? β started playing! Donβt worry Iβm not going to launch into my autobiography π€£ but suffice it to say it really did make me think!!!
I was so thrilled to have finished and incredibly, with a bit more in the tank. Unfortunately on the warm down walk βThe Kids Are Alrightβ started playing which made me all teary π’π (story for another day!) but hopefully the passers by thought it was just perspiration π€£ This program is amazing and thank you everyone for the fantastic support and advice, I really couldnβt do it without you π

Good post from you, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran ππΎ
Wow CazzaW. Well done!!! Itβs the most daunting run but the absolute euphoria when you finish it is amazing. If we could bottle that feeling we would be millionaires - but you get it at the end of every run now. Enjoy all of it!!! Bloomin magic running!!! Congratulations.
Congratulations! Iβm on W3, will keep in mind The Who for my W5. I too find the posts on here very motivational, what a great forum it is for support!
Sorry to hear you are struggling π Itβs strange how the way we feel about it fluctuates so much on a daily basis. I think there are so many things in our lives both physically and mentally that affect it.
Just think of how far youβve already come π
Keep going and keep posting, weβre all behind you π
Wel done that sounds like an amazing run! And ur own post sounds very inspirational itself, im not running today but i want to now π. Enjoy the rest of your day and good luck with the rest of ur journey π
Wow Iβm constantly full of awe for all those in here achieving the impossible, you are all super heroes in my book! ππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ
We are all super heroes π I think thereβs a lot of us achieving something that we never thought was possible! Keep going and good luck with your next run π
Itβs an amazing achievement isnβt it. I completed that yesterday as well and plan to do it again tomorrow. Iβve struggled all the way through and to keep me going I just repeated weeks before going on to th next one. Iβm actually feeling excited about repeating it and never in my life would I have felt excited about a run ππ€£. Well done to you.
I would say donβt repeat it if youβve already completed it (especially as itβs back to intervals on W6) but obviously you must do what you know is right for you π Itβs a weird feeling isnβt it to actually feel excited about it π€£
Hope it goes well and let us know when youβre on W6, itβs good to be on the same week as others π
I've got a mixed playlist as decided I really needed to update my songs as was stuck in a groove. I never thought of The Who. Which ones or all of them? You've got me thinking...
I wouldnβt have thought of The Who either althoβ I do love them and saw them live a couple of years ago... still going strong! It was rock chick LottieMW that had done the same run to Tommy that inspired me! My personal fav is Donβt Get Fooled Again (very meaningful on some of these runs π) and I like Who Are You, too. I just searched their greatest hits and modified it to suit me.
Sorry I didn't get back to you- will download it today. Sounds like we are from same "generation" π. I saw "Tommy" in 1975or was it '76? in an old cinema in Glasgow. Actually I've been trawling through Apple Music and found Justin Bieber is great to run to. Who would have thought a chick from "that" era would be doing this ??? Ha ha!
Thatβs funny as Iβve also got Justin Bieber on one of my βmodernβ π playlists! What Do You Mean? played very helpfully one day as I was struggling a bit and spurred me on! Have decided I think Iβll go with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack for todayβs run πββοΈ
Well done Caz. I have this run to do on Saturday and I'm a bit worried as I found the x 2 8 minutes quite intense. Your post has reassured me though. x
Thank you and am glad to have reassured you π I βrunβ very slowly and am not thinking at all about distance, apparently that will come over time. Just keep it slow and steady and make sure your breathing is good.
Good luck and let us know how you get on, there are a few of us at this stage now π
Yay. I did it today. Decided I wanted to just go for it. I think I managed nearly 4k in the 30 minutes so really proud of myself. When only 10 minutes have passed its a bit of a slog. I tried running on grass in the park for some bits but wanted to go back onto the paving as thats what I'm used to haha. Thanks again for your encouragement. Roll on week 6!
Great, well done so pleased for you ππ 4k sounds a good distance too π
Iβm the same about the grass, isnβt it strange. I think if thereβs a bit of grass I should go on it as it should be easier on the knees but then it doesnβt feel familiar like the pavement and Iβm worried Iβm going to fall over too π
