I started C25K 15 weeks ago. On week 5 run 2 I tore my calf muscle and was on the injury couch for 5 weeks with physio. I so missed it. Today I completed W5R3 and I loved it! I didn’t want to stop (had good tunes on). I learnt a lot taking the long route to this stage in my running. In my pre injury runs I was a real clock watcher counting down to walk. Since I started again I zone out, take in my surroundings and try to sing to my tunes to pace myself. I also use my running watch to watch my pace and slow down as much as possible. I love this running lark, learning how to be a runner for life! So proud of myself, and obviously addicted lol. Thanks for everyone’s posts and tips, they are a great help.

I pulled hamstrings on Wk9.1 and had 8 weeks off. Started back on an abridged version from Wk1 and am at the same stage today. Wk 6 starts this week! Am finding it harder second time round but perhaps that is because I missed a few runs out. I have been giving it 3 days between runs as I am 67 and probably do not recover but I will see you Graduating in 4 weeks. Cheers

Hi Grumpypete, thanks for your reply. Sorry you were injured also, and so near the finish line, glad you're on the mend. Longer rest between runs good idea. I have a longer warm up and run flat or downhill only (for now). When you said see you at graduation in 4 weeks it made it real, we’re only going to do this! How’s week 6 going? I ran it today, bit hot out but enjoyed it. I didn’t mind the intervals again. Felt stronger on the runs and Slightly better pace (not trying). Building up stamina for run 3. You got this my friend.

I can beat that! 😀

Two minutes from the end of W9R3 I twisted something and gave myself sprained ankle ligaments and a shin splint. I should have stopped but I kept going to the end, and then walked two miles home. And then ran on it again before it was fully healed. Doh! 🤦‍♂

Not quite. Second physio appointment tomorrow evening. This time last week I was limping round Morrison's. This evening's visit was more normal, just the slightest front of shin twinge when driving back.

No running for me until the physio OKs it. Hopefully Sunday or Monday...
