I've decided I'm making these my lucky running pants, in fact, I could do with this being stitched inside everything I own, seriously! What better thing to read before you go for a run Very cool initiative though don't you think?
Anyway, the run..... and other things.....
It's my son Ryan's 21st today so lots on, had set my alarm for 7, wanting to get the run done early to clear the day for all the other stuff.
Got my hair into a near perfect ponytail, or so I thought, found a loose piece that I was sorely tempted to cut off! I just wanted to get out the door! Managed to find a hair clip but that blasted loose piece of hair nagged at me the whole way round the run, kinda good in a way as it distracted me
Oh, just to explain, so the ponytail is kind of like a running tool. Bear with me on this.. I have pretty long hair so if my ponytail is swish, swish, swishing too much then I know i'm going too fast and i'll run out of puff. Also if it starts to go side to side then i'm dancing to the tunes instead of running (shuffling) so it makes me focus on my style if you like...method in my madness hey! Keeps me on form.
So the first ten minutes was amazeballs, felt lovely and strong with a good steady pace going on. Slowed down for the walk only my legs actually didn't want to slow down! Omg! Probably the first time ever that I've properly brisk walked between intervals...did make me smile. Thank you legs!
I had planned to run around Pitville Park this morning but I'd have to drive there and this is about running, so I used the first ten minute interval to get myself down to Cheltenham Racecourse instead which meant I had my final ten minutes on the grassy stuff. Got overtaken by lots of very graceful and speedy fillies, (the human kind I mean) but what was so nice was that they all smiled, waved, or said hello to this not so elegant pony as I shuffled along.... it's nice to be acknowledged all the same and I felt quite proud on my final home stretch.
Overall a good run, plenty of good breathing going on, the last couple of minutes I even pushed myself to pick up the pace, I went from shuffling to well, shuffling a bit faster :)))
Now looking forward to kicking ass on Friday. 25 minutes? You're all mine!!
