I've decided I'm making these my lucky running pants, in fact, I could do with this being stitched inside everything I own, seriously! What better thing to read before you go for a run Very cool initiative though don't you think?
Anyway, the run..... and other things.....
It's my son Ryan's 21st today so lots on, had set my alarm for 7, wanting to get the run done early to clear the day for all the other stuff.
Got my hair into a near perfect ponytail, or so I thought, found a loose piece that I was sorely tempted to cut off! I just wanted to get out the door! Managed to find a hair clip but that blasted loose piece of hair nagged at me the whole way round the run, kinda good in a way as it distracted me
Oh, just to explain, so the ponytail is kind of like a running tool. Bear with me on this.. I have pretty long hair so if my ponytail is swish, swish, swishing too much then I know i'm going too fast and i'll run out of puff. Also if it starts to go side to side then i'm dancing to the tunes instead of running (shuffling) so it makes me focus on my style if you like...method in my madness hey! Keeps me on form.
So the first ten minutes was amazeballs, felt lovely and strong with a good steady pace going on. Slowed down for the walk only my legs actually didn't want to slow down! Omg! Probably the first time ever that I've properly brisk walked between intervals...did make me smile. Thank you legs!
I had planned to run around Pitville Park this morning but I'd have to drive there and this is about running, so I used the first ten minute interval to get myself down to Cheltenham Racecourse instead which meant I had my final ten minutes on the grassy stuff. Got overtaken by lots of very graceful and speedy fillies, (the human kind I mean) but what was so nice was that they all smiled, waved, or said hello to this not so elegant pony as I shuffled along.... it's nice to be acknowledged all the same and I felt quite proud on my final home stretch.
Overall a good run, plenty of good breathing going on, the last couple of minutes I even pushed myself to pick up the pace, I went from shuffling to well, shuffling a bit faster :)))
Now looking forward to kicking ass on Friday. 25 minutes? You're all mine!!
Great mantra pants 👍 and the pony tail logic kaboom I'm off to grow one, failing that a clip on one will do the trick 🙈 nice update and enjoy that 25 minute run 🥇
Well done! Happy birthday to Ryan. I had a feeling you would find this your best run, I know I did. If we can run 20 mins then we can run 25 right? Have a great day!
Well done on your run don’t worry about 25 min run just keep doing what’s been working for you during c25k don’t forget to sort out you hair on Friday run lol happy Running you will smash it 👍
Just laughing about your pony tail, I’m exactly the same, love to swish it to a good tune but get incredibly annoyed if a bit drops out onto my sweaty face 😂
They were from Next would you believe. Have a zipped pocket across the back too! I was so impressed with them and even more so when I saw the inside 😁 three quarter length and the comfiest running gear I have at the moment.
I'm with you on the stray strands. Drives me nuts. I can't stand having hair on my face when I'm running. 😂😂
Oooh my son just had some music on which I've stolen as it sounded like good running beats - Emmit Fenn is the artist, going to have a listen and download some of his tracks. Yep my hair is getting the chop too, reckon it's all going to the Princess Trust, going to donate it and have a bob for a while 😁
Hahaha I love it, a ponytail barometer. I completely get what you mean about the annoying hairs that just love to annoy you during your run. Best of luck for Friday! Go show it who's boss!
You are doing fantastically well Burkey!! I have no doubt you will be racing 5k races soon. You are inspirational .
Your post really made me smile Burkey, you paint a great picture of your progress, go girl 😃 I hope you’re having a brilliant day celebrating your son’s 21st, keep shuffling along there, leave the speed and the injuries to the racehorses 😉🤗
