So run 1 on Monday went really well. However today around 12 minutes in my breathing was all over the place. I stopped and composed myself for about 20 seconds and then kept going.
After 23 minutes I really needed it to end and I still had 5 minutes to go!!!
I did manage it but I really struggled both with my breathing and mentally. What is wrong with me??
I keep telling myself I only have 4 runs left before I graduate but right now I feel like I don't deserve to graduate!

We all at times have stumbled and struggled, asked for help, cried, laughed throughout this program. I have no idea what your ability was in week 1 run 1 but I'm guessing you have improved maybe even surprised yourself.
For whatever reason, and there could be many, you had a hiccup today. Dont over analyse it, think what you've achieved in 8 weeks not 1 run
I'm wishing you all the best for your last 4 runs and look forward to reading your graduation post.
I always post straight after my run and its probably when I'm most emotional. I'm at the same stage as you, my run yesterday was w8 r1 and it was hard, physically and mentally and I'm always full of self doubt
I'm definitely not going too fast but I think when I come across other people my pace picks up without meaning to. I run at 6.30am so that I don't meet too many people lol.
Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.
An easy conversational pace equates to approximately 75% of your maximum heart rate, which is the perfect zone to build the solid aerobic base required to run faster and further, which is why it is the pace at which elite athletes spend up to 80% of their training time.
