Running when pregnant

Hello, I have just found out a few weeks agoI'm pregnant again, around 6 weeks and I want to keep on running. I wondered if anyone else has done this and had any tips? My pt from bootcamp said it's all fine but give 70 percent rather than 100. I have found that my runs are now around 20 mins as I am just so tired but still getting out there. I'm thinking of a maternity belt in the 2nd trimester x

There was a lady at a parkrun who apart from being the first female home who ran the 5K in about 20 minutes and her husband was the first man home, running in around 18 minutes, what is remarkable about that parkrun result, the lady was about 7 MONTHS pregnant, ask your doctor regarding your runs.

Just get yourself through the first trimester first as it’s brutal!

I know, last time I ate through it but put on some much weight, ha ha, so hoping to maintain some exercise this time x

Search around the internet and I would be interested to hear what you find out.

Just be kind to yourself and take it easy and maybe forget about increasing demands each week.

Thank you, I'll let you know what I find and I think I'll just be doing gentle runs for the foreseeable future x

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

No words of wisdom on the running whilst pregnant as I wasn’t a runner when I had my five boys. Would have loved that though. Good on you for wanting to keep running.

Nike have just launched a maternity range so an excuse for some cool running gear ❤️
