Hi, I'm not quite as old as you but when I started I was very overweight and had never run - it was hard but I have now graduated and am running 5k albeit it takes me 48 minutes rather than 30. If you need to just repeat a week until you feel comfortable but if you just keep going you'll do it.

Hi I find it so encouraging that you are going for this I, m on week 6 and have found it hard but enjoyable. I do slow old lady jog 🧓I Don, t compare myself to others just my own progress. I called my Dr about pain in my knee but she asked a few questions then encouraged me to continue n a bit of cream for my knee. I, m nearly 64 but planning on living forever so better start doing something after years of neglecting this body 😉

Amazing. Thanks. I’m finding it hard but we are blessed with no too many hills.

You’re an inspiration. 🙂

It may help your recovery to keep well hydrated, drink lots of water and try some light stretching exercises before and after running.

Also don’t eat two to three hours before a run but eat something light afterwards.

Well done! I am 5 years younger than you, but I too had never run before, and 12 weeks later I am still running and enjoying it! I'm sure it has given me more energy the rest of the time (once I got over the first couple of weeks, which I found the hardest)

Good luck with it.
