I never thought I could run!

When I started out on this journey I had never run and thought I was being a bit adventurous! Today week 9 run 3 and just completed 2.7 mile. I am pleased with that and I am sure I can reach the 5k mark with practice. I have lost 17lb (not all down to the running but I would say over half of it is) reduced my diabetes level to normal and feel fitter than I ever have. I’m 60 in March and would recommend this programme to anyone wanting to improve their fitness and motivation. I know I will keep on running ..it’s part of what I do now. Thank you Couch to 5K.

Amazing...well done!

I’m the same, I’ve never ran, started the first run yesterday and really struggled...I can’t wait to be at your stage!

You can do it...honestly. If you have the determination it gets easier! Good Luck .😊

Yep, just the same. Always thought running was for other people, now running 3 x 30 mins at least a week. It's an amazing programme, isn't it? Trying not to be too evangelical about it with everyone I meet...

Yes you are right and well done too. 😊

Congratulations on completing C25K and for getting your diabetes under control.

I was only aware of the link between diabetes and weight so I used exercise to lose weight in order to control it. It wasn't until my blood sugar was down to normal that I learnt about the huge positive effect that exercise has on diabetes.

Yes I didn’t want to go onto medication and this way I have best of both worlds. Thank you 😊
