well I went out for week 6 run 1 the other day and I thought i am just going to try something. So instead of doing the 5 minute warm up I went straight into my run.I run the 5 mins warm up felt good then carried on running the 5 mins for my run.carried on running for the 3 mins I should have walked and just kept going i was feeling good my breathing was ok by the time I had done my loop i do I had completed 2.1 miles without stopping i was well pleased with myself. So yesterday it was time for week 6 run 2 so I did the same thing and I completed 3.04 miles without stopping I think this is a fantastic achievement i have done for a 17st male when I started this plan i was a overweight 18st 9 lump of a man I used to get out of breath easy and now I'm running 3 miles none stop I am buzzing.

So to all you that thinking I dont think I can do this go and try it i didnt think I would stick to it but i have and I am proud of the way its turned out.Alot of people have commented on how well I look and how much weight I have lost so get out there and give it ago if I can do it any one can.And I had knee surgery about 4 years ago on my left knee my knee cap kept moving to the right causing me alot of pain I have got a patella strap i put under my knee when running and its doing OK.

So come on guys and girls you can do this if i can anyone can

Thanks couch to 5k

Well done for sticking with the programme but if I may, just a little word of warning. The 5 minute warm up walk is important- many people who have completed the programme and are running regularly still do the warm up walk. The aim is to complete the programme injury free, and as someone who was injured for a while post graduation, I would really advise those warm ups, especially as you have had knee issues and are wearing knee supports.

Good luck!

Well done.........but.....

Elite athletes with finely honed bodies warm up to avoid injury............

We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.

Take care.
