I am well known for never sticking to anything energetic but here I am - week 4!!!! I can’t believe it!!!
I hadn’t run since last Wednesday evening and was worried that this run might be beyond me but it was actually okay! Not exactly loving it but I managed to keep going and slowed down when I was struggling. I run on the same route every time but today discovered I had to double back to get the full run in before the walk downhill home.
Ive a slight niggle on my knee. Am I missing a stretch or something to stop it?
Good luck to all my lovely new friends on week 4!!!!

I would keep an eye on your knee, if you find it keeps niggling, consider buying a support. Continue to stretch. Personally I like to do some before my run as well as after and always on rest days too. Hopefully your knee is just waking up to the fact that you’re starting to take this running lark seriously and it will quit complaining!
Thank you!!!! It’s not sore while I run but I feel it after. I’ll keep stretching. My whole body is in shock that I’m attempting running so you might be right about my knee hahahaha.
Try alternating a hot and cold compress perhaps? I also like to have a contrast shower when I get home from running - alternating between hot and cold for a few minutes. It’s great for the system and sore muscles. I think it’s all about muscles rather than joints but I give my knee a good blast too. Maybe give it a whirl!
Great advice. Thank you. I think I need to not sit down when I get home and keep going to fully cool down but after our soaking, Ollie (cockapoo) needed showered first #spoileddoggie hahahaha.
I’ll definitely try the hot cold compresses though. Thank you.
Yes, I think not sitting is a good thing. I’m 6ft tall and leggy and when sitting I’m always tucking my knees underneath me this way and that. I noticed the difference in comfort trying to do this after running 😣
I’m forming a new habit of sprawling out on the floor when I want to sit with a coffee for example, and I automatically start doing leg stretches and back stretches. Win win!
Ollie looks like a scrumptious run buddy! 💙🐾 I’d ask if I could have him on loan but I think I have enough wildlife to contend with on my runs right now! 😁
I'm 6ft tall and leggy too and guilty of that. Winding my legs round chair legs, etc. And then when I stand up I find my legs have gone to sleep or I get cramp in my leg or foot.
