Week 4
If youâve been reading posts on here you could guess at my advice. Slow down then go slower. All you are aiming for is to complete the time. Speed and distance arenât important, they can be worked on after graduation. Drink 2 to 3 litres of water every day not just run days, always have a rest day, more if you need to, warm up with a walk or dynamic stretches then always do a cool down and stretch after every walk. Youâve reached week 4, fantastic effort, no reason why you canât go on to the end.
Thank you! Thatâs helpful
Donât forget each run prepares you for the next and youâll have âgoodâ runs where youâll feel like you can go on forever and âbadâ runs which are a real struggle. Itâs a mental battle as well as a physical and all you need to do is trust in the program and keep going. As Granny2be says slow, slow and slower again is the key. Youâve got this đŞđź
As the others have said, slow down and then slow down more, you should be breathing deeper but not puffing
You will be surprised how far you can run slowly, and one day you will realize that a longer slow run is faster than your first few runs that felt so fast
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
