After 6 days off for an injury I could not wait to get back to the programme and finish my last run of week 4. I set off at midday ( not ideal but earliest I could manage) I really didn’t know how this was going to go as my toe still feels bruised but I thought to myself if it gets too painful I’ll just have to stop and give it another couple of days.
However, once I started I realised that I could manage that bit of pain and soon I found myself doing the first 5 minutes comfortably! Wow I was soooo chuffed! By the time the last 5 min run came round the weather was getting hotter and I did find this more difficult but I constantly told myself I could do it and I did.
The thing that I’m astonished about is the fact that the extra days off seems to have boosted my energy levels (sussex13 said I would!) and I don’t seem to have lost any fitness level which I thought I would. I really thought it would be a terrible struggle.
Huge thankyou to everyone who gave me support during my break. That really helped to keep the mental momentum going!
Happy running everyone! 😀

Hooray!!! Well done you, so glad you made it and sounds like it was a breeze - though the time of day and heat probably got to you a bit, quite understandable! The fact is you did it and in such good spirits!
I had 2 weeks off and was so disheartened thinking I'd have to go right back to a very early week but after one trial training run, I went back to it like a proverbial duck to water and I had hopes that you'd do the same... brilliant!!!!
Onward and upwards now, you are back in the game! Hope the toe gets better, what did you do to it?
Thanks so much! What did I do to my toe? well I started with ice regularly then ibuprofen cream 3 times a day and the the last 3 days trying to rest it. The bruising is going but still very swollen but hey I could walk so I figured I’d try and run and it worked. There was some pain but nothing too major! So pleased. And thanks for my gold star!!! 😀😀
