oh, you don't want to run now, its raining and it's darker than it was a few weeks ago, so when i made my cup of tea at 5:45 i went back to bed !
within 10 minutes i was feeling guilty so drank my tea , smashed the gremlin over the head with my running shoes and fed him to the cat π
off i went around 06:45
yes, it was raining , my first run in the rain since before graduation but i was now feeling positive on my warm up walk .
the plan was just to complete another 5K, just consolidating on what i have done since graduation .
Pink floyd on the playlist will help !
so, cool and wet, off we go !
i definitely had the toxic 10 today! if anything maybe toxic 12 or 13 !
but then settled down to what was a comfortable pace , my pace feels naturally better now and i realise it's similar to my last run, 15 minutes in 'Echoes' comes on my playlist , its a 24 minute track so i think ok, i just listen to this and then i will be at my 5K π¬
as it happened , i hit 5K before the track had finished and to my surprise it was the same pace as the last one , i'll take that as i know i could have gone quicker had i wanted too.
so glad i beat that gremlin this morning π¬π

Really happy you managed to feed the gremlins to the cat again I have loved running in the rain so far! I find it exhilerating.. hope you enjoyed it anyway sounds like you did! Great pace x
Another great run thereπ I'm looking forward to running in the rain again to be honest. Keep managing to miss it now for quite a number of weeks. Not looking forward to piles of slippery leaves though come the autumn so will have to pick my venues wisely methinks ππ
Managed to come a cropper a few times albeit walking and resulted in yet other slipped discs in my back. So super wary of it now. Come the winter and ice I may resort to running on grass with cross country spikes as I really don't want to go down the treadmill route?
Well done, Ian! ππ Good, solid run and knowing you could go faster. Although I would be ecstatic if I ever achieved that pace π.
I had a half-formed thought about the you-donβt-want-to-get-up gremlin; but I got up quickly and dived into the shower before he had a chance to materialise! It was pretty dark at 4.30, but not raining and the air quality was pretty good, too.
Thatβs true - but for the time being Iβve taken most of my focus away from distance as I was finding it too much. I could always decide to do it later ππ
You can do it anytime if you wanted , you can get the plan and do it on your own , in fact, that was my initial thought but last night decided to ask to join the group π
Itβs better to do it within a group if you can! And Iβm sure it wonβt be long for you to improve your 5K once your injury is fully healed ππ
Do NOT be pushing Mister- the pace you are doing is amazing from the injury you recovered from so ...... continue in the same way... its working for you!
