About 7 weeks ago I pulled up afterthe first Km of week 9 Run 1. Gutted. Hamstrings and piraforma muscles. Well , while I still have a touch of pain right in the crotch area I think its time to get going again and complete this before my 68th birthday. I intend to get to week 5 in 4 runs and then follow the course from there on in. I did 1600 m of ascent and 8 miles of walking two days running in the Malverns the week before lastso still fairly fit. Is that too fast? Should I do the whole course again to build up?

Hi - sorry you have been laid low on the injury couch.

Obviously we're not qualified to give medical advice - but if you still have some discomfort then I would think you may need a little more time. Have you seen a physio about your injury - they could advise and would also give you a programme of rehab exercises to do.

I know it is frustrating when you are clearly keen to get back to your running but sometimes it's worth playing the longer game in order to get back safely and remain fit.

Good luck🙂🤞
