So after graduating on Wednesday I did my first consolidation run on Friday. It was a disaster! I had to stop after 20 minutes as I couldn’t seem to get enough oxygen into my body no matter how much I slowed down. I blame humidity!
Today’s run was a lot more successful. I did a 15 minute warm up walk to get away from the roads and onto a lovely riverside, where I normally run. I put my earbuds in, checked the time on my watch and started to run at my comfortable pace. I got through a good few songs so took a look at my watch and was surprised to find I had been running for 38 minutes. I didn’t feel tired but stopped as I remembered the 10% rule and I had only graduated 4 days before!
I didn’t measure my pace, speed or distance, I have the rest of my life to do that, but can honestly say it was the first comfortable run I have had since starting C25K.
Here’s to many more 🥂

Congrats! I struggled on my first consolidation run too. Had to sop after 20 min. But now slowly getting back up. Hopefully it will start feeling more comfortable. And btw, 20 min is not a disaster. Think back to 9-10 weeks ago when you started C25K 😉
