Week 4 finally completed but advice needed as to next step

After the crazy heat wave when I would have had to run in the dark at 3am to stand a chance of running, I have finally ran week 4 run 3! Due to the heat I waited a week to do this run and was surprised how good I felt running. I was expecting to have to add more walking in and take it back a few weeks. But I felt great and could have ran more.

However should I repeat week 4 runs a couple of times to get back into running or am I ok to move on to week 5? Look forward to the advice.

No need to repeat week 4 ,

Why do it twice ?

If you have successfully completed all runs in week 4 then you will be physically ready for week 5 .

You just need to convince your head 😁

Trust the program πŸ‘

I just didn't know if because I didn't run for a week due to the heat the programme would still work. Though I felt great today and felt I could have ran more.

You not going to loose your level of fitness within the first 2 weeks, and then it's likely to be gradual πŸ‘

Definitely don't repeat if you completed the run. Carry on. You will surprise yourself!!

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

Just carry on.

Hi I did w5r1 yesterday in the rain and it was fine. It's only three five minute runs instead of two. If you found w4 OK you will be fine. Enjoy x

If you've done week 4, you'll find week 5 a breeze. Week 5 is consolidating the work you've done in earlier weeks, getting you to do longer individual runs, but not adding to the total time.

People seem to look at week 5 and go 😱, forgetting that week 4 is where the big jump in running time happens.

Not what you're looking for?
