After many setbacks, I plunged myself into Week 4. I’ve changed my running scenery which has definitely given me a bit more drive. I’ve also found listening to rap music helps?! Mostly because I’m listening to what the artist is saying more than focusing on my discomfort!
I am so, so thrilled to have gotten to the end of Week 4, run 1. I definitely think it’s a war with your mind sometimes as well as the physical. I was having issues with foot cramp as a result of my shoes which I need to address and problems with stitch. Jo Whiley gives good advice on tackling that which helped a lot.
Two months ago I couldn’t run for 60 seconds, Week 4 feels like a big moment and I’m feeling positive!
Hope everyone is well.

I did the same run this morning, it’s a great feeling isn’t it when you know you’ve completed that 5 minute run 😊 I also changed the music I was listening to and started listening to a bit of funk and soul, it powered me right on through those runs 💪🏻😩
Great job. I found a similar thing when I switched from music to podcasts, concentrating on something else really helped with the running... good to hear you’ve found your distraction.
Running is mainly mental, we are our own worst critics and biggest doubters... so long as we progress at a safe rate, like C25K, the physical bit doesn’t limit us... there’s no distance that you can’t run in time. Setbacks are just challenges, runners like a challenge!
